TEAM NOTES
- The Titans defeated the Patriots 20-17 in overtime to give Brian Callahan his second career win as a head coach and his first home victory as a head coach.
- The Titans earned a win in their first overtime game of the season. It was their first overtime victory since defeating the Chargers at Nissan Stadium 27-24 on Sept. 17, 2023.
- The Titans improved their all-time record in overtime games, including the regular season and playoffs, to 26-28. That includes a 10-8 mark in overtime at Nissan Stadium.
- The win improved the Titans' all-time record at Nissan Stadium to 118-93, including the regular season and playoffs.
- The Titans forced three turnovers, including two interceptions and one fumble recovery, and had one giveaway. At plus-two, they won the turnover margin for the first time in 2024.
- The Titans won the time-of-possession battle, holding the ball for 38 minutes and 44 seconds, compared to 29 minutes and 9 seconds for the Patriots. The Titans have had the better time of possession in six of their eight contests in 2024.
TEAM NOTES – OFFENSE
- The Titans scored a touchdown on their opening drive, marching 75 yards on eight plays. Mason Rudoph and Nick Vannett connected on a nine-yard touchdown pass to cap the series, which marked the second time in 2024 that the Titans opened the game with a touchdown drive (Sept. 22 vs. Green Bay).
- The Titans opened the game with a touchdown drive and then scored a field goal on their first possession of the third quarter. It was their first game in 2024 in which they scored on their first possession of each half.
- The Titans set a season high with 24 first downs. It was the second consecutive week they set their season high in the category (23 at Detroit on Oct. 27).
- The Titans' 43.8 percent on third down—seven conversions on 16 attempts—was their best of the season through eight games.
- The offense totaled 400 yards on offense, registering their second consecutive game to reach the 400-yard mark (416 at Detroit on Oct. 27).
- The Titans totaled a season-best 167 rushing yards. It was their second straight game setting a season high after totaling 158 rushing yards at Detroit (Oct. 27).
- The offense allowed only one sack against the Patriots on 34 total dropbacks. It was the unit's second consecutive week allowing only one sack and their fourth occasion in a five-game span allowing one sack or no sacks.
- The Titans' game-winning drive in overtime went 72 yards on 13 plays and took 7 minutes and 28 seconds. Since 1999, it was the team's longest overtime scoring drive in terms of clock used and tied for the most plays in an overtime scoring drive.
TEAM NOTES – DEFENSE
- The Titans defense allowed only 124 total yards by the Patriots in the first half—46 rushing yards and 78 net passing yards. It marked the fifth time in 2024 that the Titans defense limited their opponents to fewer than 125 yards in the first half.
- The defense posted consecutive plays with a sack, taking down Drake Maye on the final play of the third quarter (Jack Gibbens and Sebastian Joseph-Day) and the first play of the fourth quarter (Jeffery Simmons). It was the second consecutive week that the Titans recorded sacks on back-to-back plays after accomplishing the feat at Detroit on Oct. 27.
- With eight tackles for loss against the Patriots, the Titans defense improved its season total to 54 tackles for loss in eight games, a rate of 6.75 per contest. Going into the game, they led the NFL in tackles for loss per game (6.6 entering the game).
- The defense registered its eighth consecutive game to begin the season with six or more tackles for loss, becoming the NFL's first team in the past 24 years (2001-24) to record six or more tackles for loss in each of its first eight games. They broke the Denver Broncos' previous mark of seven straight games in 2015.
- The defense registered his fourth game of the season in which they limited their opponents to 30.0 percent or less on third down. The Patriots converted three times on 11 third-down attempts for a rate of 27.3 percent.
- The defense held its opponent under the 200-yard net passing mark (185) for the seventh time in eight games in 2024.
- The defense registered a season-high four sacks for the second consecutive game.
S MIKE BROWN
- Entered the game on defense in the second quarter after starter Quandre Diggs exited with a foot injury.
- Set a career high and tied for third on the team with six tackles.
- Also credited with his second career pass defensed.
CB JARVIS BROWNLEE JR.
- Ranked second on the team with seven tackles.
S QUANDRE DIGGS
- Recorded his 75th consecutive start. He entered the contest trailing only Kevin Byard (128), Daron Payne (75) and Patrick Queen (75) for the NFL's longest active starting streak among defensive players.
- Totaled three tackles before leaving the game in the second quarter with a foot injury.
K NICK FOLK
- Made both of his field goal attempts and both of his extra point attempts. He connected on a 21-yard field goal in the third quarter and made the game-winning 25-yard field goal in overtime.
- Registered his 14th career game-winning field goal, including 13 in the regular season and one in the playoffs. It was his second game-winner since joining the Titans in 2023 (Sept. 17, 2023 vs. L.A. Chargers).
- Improved his all-time NFL-record streak to 82 consecutive field goals made on attempts from less than 40 yards.
- With 393 career field goals, he surpassed Stephen Gostkowski (392) for 16th place in NFL history.
- Increased his current streak to 20 consecutive field goals made since Nov. 12, 2023, which is the fourth-longest streak of his career and tied for the Titans/Oilers franchise record. The record of 20 consecutive field goals was previously reached on five different occasions, including once by Folk in 2023.
LB JACK GIBBENS
- Led the team and set a career high with 14 tackles, including a half sack. He tied for the team lead with two tackles for loss, which also established a career high.
- Combined with Sebastian Joseph-Day to sack Drake Maye for a seven-yard loss in the third quarter. It was his first half sack of 2024, giving him 1.5 career sacks.
S AMANI HOOKER
- Set a career high with two interceptions, including the game-clinching takeaway in overtime. He picked off Drake Maye in the extra period at Tennessee's 11-yard line to seal the victory.
- In the second quarter, he intercepted Drake Maye and returned the ball 17 yards.
- Became the team's first player with two interceptions in a game since Kevin Byard against Dallas on Dec. 29, 2022.
- Increased his season total to a team-high three interceptions and improved his career total to 10 interceptions.
- Became the 10th player for the organization in its "Titans era" (1999 to present) to reach 10 career interceptions.
- Credited with five tackles and a team-high three passes defensed against the Patriots.
WR JHA'QUAN JACKSON
- Gained eight yards on his first career reception in the second quarter.
- Added 47 yards on a pair of kickoff returns and seven yards on a punt return.
DE SEBASTIAN JOSEPH-DAY
- Totaled two tackles, including a half sack.
- Combined with Jack Gibbens to sack Drake Maye for a seven-yard loss in the third quarter. The play gave him 2.5 sacks in 2024 and 13.5 sacks in his career.
OLB ARDEN KEY
- Totaled two tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
- Forced a turnover with a strip-sack in the fourth quarter. He forced a fumble against Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, and the ball was recovered by Jeffery Simmons at the New England 26-yard line. The play led to a go-ahead Titans touchdown.
- Registered a strip-sack for the second consecutive week and for the fourth time in his career. It was also his fourth career forced fumble.
- Became the first Titans player with a strip-sack in consecutive games since Jurrell Casey from Sept. 16-23, 2018.
- Increased his season total to four sacks and his career total to 24 sacks.
OLB HAROLD LANDRY III
- Totaled five tackles, one sack and one pass defensed. It was the second time in his career reaching all three marks in the same game (at Carolina on Nov. 3, 2019).
- Sacked Drake Maye in the first quarter for a four-yard loss on third down. It was his fifth sack of the season.
- Ranks ninth in franchise history in sacks (46.5) and owns the third-highest sack total for the team in its "Titans era" (1999–present), trailing only Jevon Kearse (52) and Jurrell Casey (51).
- Secured his fifth career season with at least five sacks. He joined Jurrell Casey (seven seasons) and Derrick Morgan (five seasons) as the franchise's only players in its "Titans era" (1999 to present) to reach five sacks in at least five different seasons.
LB KENNETH MURRAY JR.
- Tied for third on the defense with six total tackles.
TE CHIG OKONKWO
- Totaled 38 yards on three receptions.
- Caught a 21-yard pass in the third quarter to set up a first-and-goal.
WR BRYCE OLIVER
- Recorded a start in his first career NFL game.
RB TONY POLLARD
- Led the team with a career-high 28 carries for 128 yards. His yardage total was the third-best of his career and his best number in 2024 through eight games.
- Added 26 yards on three receptions to give him 154 scrimmage yards, which was the second-best scrimmage yard total of his career.
- Logged his second consecutive game with at least 100 scrimmage yards. His four such performances in 2024 matched his total from 2023 with the Cowboys.
- Posted his eighth career 100-yard rushing game.
- Reached the 600-yard rushing mark (622) in the team's first eight games, reaching the plateau within the team's first eight games for the first time in his career.
- Joined Chris Johnson and DeMarco Murray as the only players in the franchise's Titans era (1999 to present) to reach at least 500 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in their first eight games with the team.
- Logged his fifth consecutive game with at least 60 rushing yards, recording the second-longest such streak of his career (six games in 2022).
- Gained 32 yards on a carry in the first quarter to help set up a touchdown on the next play.
WR CALVIN RIDLEY
- Led the team with five receptions for 73 yards.
- Notched a 25-yard reception in the second quarter.
- Posted receptions of 16 yards and 14 yards to help set up the game-winning field goal in overtime.
QB MASON RUDOLPH
- Completed 20 of 33 passes for 240 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. His 90.5 passer rating was the seventh-best figure of his career in a game with 20 or more attempts.
- Added 19 rushing yards on four attempts, including a 13-yard run for a first down on third-and-12 in the first quarter.
- Earned his first win as a Titans starting quarterback to improve his career record to 9-6-1 as a starter.
- Registered his third career game-winning drive and his first as a member of the Titans. During the game-winning drive in overtime, he completed two of his three passes for 30 yards, connecting with Calvin Ridley on gains of 16 and 14 yards.
- Completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Nick Vannett to cap the first drive of the game.
- Tossed a go-ahead six-yard touchdown pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in the fourth quarter.
- His two touchdown passes tied his career high, which he reached for the seventh time.
DT JEFFERY SIMMONS
- Totaled five tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery.
- Pressured Drake Maye to help cause an interception by Amani Hooker in the second quarter.
- Dropped Drake Maye for a six-yard sack in the third quarter. He increased his season total to 2.5 sacks and increased his career total to 29 sacks.
- Recorded his fifth career defensive fumble recovery (first in 2024) in the fourth quarter after Drake Maye lost the ball on a strip-sack by Arden Key. Simmons recovered the ball at New England's 26-yard line to set up a go-ahead score.
P RYAN STONEHOUSE
- Averaged 46.6 yards (28.8 net) on five punts with two punts placed inside the 20.
- Recorded his 15th consecutive game with at least one punt of 55-plus yards (58). He holds the NFL's longest such active streak, which is also the longest streak of his career.
TE NICK VANNETT
- Totaled 33 yards and a touchdown on two receptions.
- Caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph to cap the first drive of the game. It was the 100th reception of his career.
- Later in the first quarter, he hauled in a pass for 24 yards. It was the third-longest reception of his career.
WR NICK WESTBROOK-IKHINE
- Tied for the team lead with five receptions, totaling 50 yards and a touchdown.
- Logged his fourth career game with five or more receptions.
- Became the fourth undrafted player in the franchise's "Titans era" (1999 to present) to produce 100 career receptions for the team (104). The group includes wide receivers Nate Washington (307 receptions with the Titans) and Drew Bennett (273) and tight end Anthony Firkser (106). Westbrook-Ikhine joined Bennett as the only members of the group who initially entered the NFL with the Titans.
- Converted a third-and-10 with a 13-yard grab in the third quarter.
- Caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph on third-and-goal to give the Titans a 17-10 lead in the fourth quarter.
- Registered his fourth consecutive game with a touchdown reception, marking the 14th occasion in franchise history that a player achieved the feat. The most recent player to do so was J. Brown (five-game streak) in 2020.
- His four touchdown receptions in 2024 matched his career high (four in 2021) and increased his career total to 14 touchdown catches.
