NASHVILLE – We've made it to the NFL Combine.

Well, almost.

The event kicks off in a few days in Indianapolis, with Titans officials scheduled to speak to media on Tuesday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

For now, this mailbag will have to do.

Let's go…

Lucas Fennell from Buffalo, New York
Question: Hello. My name Is Lucas. I live in New York. I am a Titans fan and lots of my friends criticize me for it. I have been watching ever since I was little. Watching Derrick Henry go broke my heart. When I saw A.J. Brown get traded it made me think if we would have a chance. We have many chances to improve. When seeing the Titans clinch the number one seed was absolutely amazing. And now we have the first pick in the first round draft of 2025. I would love to give Will Levis another chance. I feel he has lots of room to improve and I believe you should draft Abdul Carter. I would really love to see Will Levis play one more season with an amazing Edge Rusher team up with rookie T'vondre Sweat and Jeffery Simmons.

Jim: Hey Lucas. Stay strong up there in Bills country. The Titans have some tough decisions to make. You're not the only one who wants to give Levis another chance – I see it in here from time to time. But I think you're in the minority in the fan base, and I understand why – he's had two years, and he hasn't locked down the spot. He's made too mistakes. We'll see what happens. Will's immediate future hinges on what happens in the coming months, in free agency and the NFL Draft. I wouldn't hate seeing the team pick Carter – especially at No.3, with extra picks. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least intrigued by some other QBs, in free agency and the draft. We'll see what happens.

Fred Vail from Franklin, Tennessee
Question: PSL holder since Day 1—saw in Memphis, Vandy and the stadium now known as Nissan. Titan management has a horrible draft record at picking a quarterback — we're 1 for 5 with only the mighty McNair a winner. We lost A J and Derrick. We need a "star" to ignite the fan base. We need Travis Hunter. What are our chances?

Jim: Well, there's a 100 percent chance the Titans could get Hunter if they want him. That's the beauty of having the No.1 pick. But two months out, the team is still in the evaluation stage for all these picks. And, what happens if another team offers the team a trade package it can't turn down?

Brian Holloway from Dothan, Alabama
Question: Hey Jim! I get uneasy when folks mention A Rodgers to the Titans! I say no way not now. If we pick a QB this draft then maybe Cam Ward…? My wish is to trade down somewhere 3 to 6, get the most trade picks possible and try to get Carter-Penn State, Will Campbell-LSU, or Mason Graham-Michigan, and maybe draft a QB next year or pick up Dart in maybe 2nd Round ? I would also consider bringing in Wilson for say 1-2 years, Fields for 2+ years, Stafford 1-2 years, or what would your thoughts be on signing Sam Darnold? Thanks….Titan Up boys and girls the draft is almost here!!

Jim: If it seems like the Aaron Rodgers rumor has been out there for three years now, it's because it has. … Sam Darnold had a really good year (but let's not ignore the fact he had some studs around him on offense). Nonetheless, I'm sure a lot of teams will be in the mix for him if he becomes a free agent, and doesn't re-sign with the Vikings. I can only imagine what his contract might look like.

Donte' Bond from Chattanooga, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim. Love your work and it's great reading your stories. I have an interesting scenario that could shake up some things for the Titans. Titans can trade down to #3 and get #34 and an additional pick next year (R1 or R2) and take #34 and trade it to the Rams for Matthew Stafford while signing him to a 3 year extension. Then, in the draft, get Abdul Carter at 3, use #35 to get a tackle or pass rusher, or could get QB Tyler Shough from Louisville and let him sit for a year or two. That way, you can continue building the team while having a veteran presence and the torch can be passed off to the younger guys. Just something to think about. Thanks once again!

Jim: Appreciate it, Donte'. I don't hate the idea of landing Stafford. I don't necessarily like the idea of developing a QB with a pick that early along with it, though. The Titans need as many players as they can get that can help now.

Andy Stambene from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
Question: Hey Jim hope everything's going well...I missed my take on what the Titans should do so I'll say it right here...Like to see the Titans trade back a couple of times and still get Abdul Carter, then some OLinemen...J Savaiinaea, W Millum and then Receivers Tre Harris, Tory Horton followed by E Arroyo and then more Defense to round the rest of the picks...like to see the Titans walk away with 12-13 picks so additional 4-5 picks...of course the Titans will have to address the QB position with a vet... Carr? Darnold? Then maybe next year country we get Arch Manning...only a pipe dream...have a great day and looking forward to the Combine and then Free Agency and Draft

Jim: Thanks for weighing in, Andy.

Gee Brown from Gallatin, Tennessee
Question: I know the Titans pick first in the draft but why do they pick third in the second round, and do they pick first in all the other rounds that they have a pick in. Of course, trades could change the order before the draft.

Jim: Hi Gee. It's part of the NFL's tie-breaking formula, which rotates teams that finished tied. The Titans, Browns and Giants all finished 3-14, but the Titans won the tiebreaker for the 1st pick based on their .522 strength of schedule. They'll rotate to third for the 2nd round, and would've rotated to second for the 3rd round, but the team doesn't have a 3rd round pick. The good news is the Titans will pick 1st overall in the fourth round, which kicks off Day 3 of the draft. That's usually a pick other teams come after.

Bob Lawson from Kokomo, Indiana
Question: Why not pursue Mac Jones? He was exceptional his rookie year and then the Patriots became a mess and he received poor qb coaching. How does one do so well their rookie year and end up discarded next two years? I believe he is worth a good look and probably for a reasonable price. Go Titans

Jim: You been listening to Jared Stillman?

Mitch Wilson from Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Question: What a quandry for a HC and GM! Take a QB or trade back? The answer is easy if the Titans O-line was average and their AQBs had performed the same. But when your O-line was at the bottom of the nfl it becomes tougher. I still remember when the Titans had a good O-line. Henry won a rushing title and Tannehill was at the top of his game. Fast forward to a bad oline and Tannehill is gone Willis is gone (and beat tennessee by a team with a better o-line) and both Titans QB stock is falling quickly. Henry, behind a good offensive line, is right back on the top. If you pick a QB and Levis ends up starting and doing better with an improved o-line and everyone thinks you wasted a pick. Trade back and improve your o-line and one of the QBs don't step up evgeryone thinks you wasted a number one pick. What to do? Fast forward to the super bowl and arguably the best QB in the NFL gets his head ripped off and handed to him. Two time Superbowl Winner KC fails in their attempt to threepeat with the best QB in the NFL at the helm. Why? Because the KC O-line could not stop the Eagles. The best QB in the NFL with the best record in the NFL was rendered in effective because he had to run for his life. Their ground game normally excellent was poor which is completely out of character. MAYBE THE DECISION ISN'T THAT HARD!!!!! We really don't know if levis has what it takes...mentally. He's a rookie. If the best QB in the NFL can't succeed behind a porous O-line, how can you expect a rookie to succeed. Don't get me wrong. I'm not emotionally tied to Levis. The jury is still out on him. Trade him and he becomes a franchise QB for another team and both the GM and HC will be. gone. What to do with draft pick #1. Play it safe. First, I don't think you have a QB problem any more than KC does. You have an O-LINE Problem. No QB would be successful behind the Titans O-line...not even Tom Brady in his prime. Trade back and pick up another first round pick for 2026 and one or two early round draft picks for 2025. Use those picks to get Carter, Hunter or a great offensive tackle prospect. Use the rest of your picks to add depth to the o-line, d-line and maybe add a WR and LB and/or safety. Give Levis or another QB a chance. If the QBs fail, you will have two first round picks to get a QB or to trade up to get a QB next year. I think both Sanders and Ward have gret potential in the NFL. I'm just not sure the are an improvement over Levis at this point.

Jim: I'm going to need some time to process this one, Mitch.
