Or, here's another way to put it: Two weeks from today, the draft will be wrapping up.
Lots of questions still out there related to the Titans, so let's get to it…

Kyle Clark from Sebastopol, California
Question: Hello Jim. Love the mail bag and read religiously. This frustration is not directed at you, the team or my fellow fans. But after reading someone in the most recent Tuesday section say they cant wait for Cam Ward/Chad Brinker duo to turn this around. I wholeheartedly hope so... But I've seen the upside of Levis and lets be honest hes been better than A. Richardson. I get it we are getting impatient. But teams don't give up on a #1 pick for 2 to 3 years even if they are looking like Levis. In the end my conclusion is run it back one more year with Will. From what I've heard QB crop looks better next year anyhow. PS: I'm upset and confused about our 2 kickers. We get rid of automatic for a guy who can maybe kick it 10 yards further. And i bought a Stonehouse jersey 2 years ago because he the was the most consistent player on the team besides Jeff. Thx for taking the time Jim happy April.
Jim: Thanks for reading, Kyle. Even if you consider Levis better than Anthony Richardson, the bigger question is: Is that good enough? Levis is talented, and I like him as a competitor. And, Levis has dealt with tough circumstances in his first two NFL seasons, there's no doubt about it. Up to this point, however, he hasn't played well enough to keep the decision-makers from looking at other options, which certainly could result in Cam Ward being the pick at 1. From the sound of things, Will could still be in the mix at the position heading into the season. I also know a lot can change. We'll see what happens. There are no guarantees. As for the decisions on special teams, I hated to see Ryan Stonehouse and Nick Folk go myself because they're both great guys. But the team feels like it got younger – and a stronger leg – at kicker with Joey Slye. And punter Johnny Hekker is still enjoying a great career, so he's no slouch.

Question: Thanks, Jim, for answering my question last week. As the draft approaches, it seems increasingly likely that Ward will be the #1 pick. However, what are your thoughts on the second round? Personally, I believe we should trade back with the Packers to acquire a second and a third-round pick. In that case, I would suggest taking Kyle Williams and then targeting an edge rusher in the third round. On the other hand, some people are advocating for sticking with the pick at #35 and selecting an edge rusher or an outside linebacker, which I find puzzling. If we're taking a quarterback at #1, it doesn't make sense to pass on a wide receiver in the second round, especially given the current state of our receiving corps. I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of Ward until his pro day. I was impressed by his behavior, confidence, and athleticism. Out of the wide receivers that Ward has played with, would you prefer Restrepo or Williams? Thanks, TITANUP!
Jim: Good to hear from you again, William. Receiver and edge are the two biggest positions of need in my mind. Not exactly sure who will be there early in the second round, but those are the positions that intrigue me. I don't hate the thought of accumulating extra picks, but I wouldn't do it if it's going to cost you getting a player you really like. I like the Miami tight end, Elijah Arroyo. He's a beast.
Raúl Lopez from de Veracruz México
David Smith from Clarksville, Tennessee
Question: This is just a vent! If they pick up Ward it will be a huge mistake. I really wish the GM and scouts would look into character with talent instead of just talent. Year after year you see these kids come in with talent and bad character (they flop). I remember an nfl team hired an ex military guy to help scout and they were so successful. I say draft down and grab Riley Leonard out of Notre Dame. Won't happen but wanted to put it in writing lol
Jim: Judging from my recent mailbags, I think you're in the minority on this opinion, David. And, why are you questioning Ward's character? I've met him, and his parents, and they're great people. Cam is talented, and he's an impressive young man. Sure, it seems like Riley Leonard is a great kid, too, but I'd take Ward over him every day of the week, especially on Sundays.
Bear Butler from Somerville, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim. Hope all is well with you. There is alot of speculation that the Titans will draft Cam Ward. I have to say as a fan of the team, I really hope they do draft Ward, he's one of the college QB's I would keep an eye out for last season. And he looks like a franchise QB to me.
After the team drafted Levis, I held out hope for him even though honestly I had never heard of him before the Titans drafted him. After seeing almost 2 years of Levis being the starter, he has the big arm and wants to win but I just don't know if he's ever going to not run into sacks or throw pick sixes after going into panic mode if his 1st read isn't open.
And from what I've seen of Ward, he can go through his reads and has good accuracy and plenty of arm to make the throws, he's alot more calm in the pocket. He's not Lamar but he can make plays with his legs when he needs to. Also
I know there are fans wanting Shedeur Sanders, I think he's decent but I watched plenty of Colorado games because of the coach prime hype and in my humble opinion I think Ward is the better QB. Also I've heard people say Shedeur is the most prepared to enter the NFL because he's had his dad and Tom Brady coaching him. You can look at that as a good thing but you could also see it as, he's had his dad and Brady couching him, he may very well be at the top of his ceiling. Where as Ward has trained some with Shedeur and Brady, but he hasn't had that his entire life, he came into college a no star recruit and was making a push for the Heisman by his senior year, he has been a starter in college for 5 yeaes and has gotten better every year.
Also I hear the people saying trade the pick for multiple picks and build the team before getting a QB
Well what if you build a team and then you swing and miss on a few QB's, the team you built is getting older now your headed for another rebuild... Anyways I could write plenty more but I dont want to keep rambling on, I'm more hyped for Cam than I was for Mariota, even tho there is no guarantee he will be a Titan.
Still, I can hope the Borg makes it happen lol.
Titan up Jim!
Jim: I hear ya, Bear.
Russ Vedder from Central Point, Oregon
Question: Why don't the Titans look for a QB like Seth Henigan? Sanders seems like to much drama and won't last in the NFL. I want our team to go to the Super Bowl finally.... we need a great QB.
Jim: Hey Russ. You're referring to Memphis QB Seth Henigan, of course. He had a heck of a college career. I know our folks have studied him during the process.
Henry Dunlap from Ashland City, Tennessee
Question: I am 86 and have been a fan since the Oilers/ Titans beginning in Houston, Tx! 1960! I think they will trade back; and who do you think they will target?
Jim: Hey Henry. Thanks for reading. My dad is 87. I'm not sure about a trade back at this point, although I have no idea what other teams are offering. Only a few people know this, and I'm not one of them. If Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker get an offer they can't refuse, then it could still happen, I guess. Until then, though, the team is scheduled to pick at 1.
Jack Walker from Calabasas, California
Question: Hey Jim. So I guess it's going to be Cam Ward with our first pick... Fingers crossed! But at 35, I'd like to suggest Tre Harris, a top notch WR or Kenneth Grant who has future Pro Bowl DT written all over him, 6'4 and 331 but moves like Big Jeff. And on the late 2nd/3rd day add Xavier Restrepo for familiarity with Ward.
Jim: Thanks for chiming in, Jack.
John Fleming from Guelph, Canada
Question: Ooooooh, I've got a fun idea for the mailbag. You find yourself the most loyal and TRUE Titan Fan and let him/her answer the mailbag for the week. Here's the really fun part…YOU get to choose the mail..and if I could further suggest that it be from the haters, naysayers, doomsayers and the 'sky is falling' sort. The sort that want to jump ship at the earliest sign of trouble. The sort that thinks they've got all the answers. Jim, you do an outstanding job of keeping it PC and taking the high road, but don't be afraid to verbally wallop some of these writers. For now, I'll forward my own name, and offer my services, cuz' boy oh boy, I'd like a crack at some of these queries.
Think about it Jim. Could be a fun exercise. Titan Up!!
Jim: Interesting thought, John. I'm going to stick with it a little longer, though …
Have a great weekend everyone!
