NASHVILLE -- The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Saturday's playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Here's a look at three quick hits from Thursday:
David Long's Improvement
The Titans on Thursday ruled starting inside linebacker Jayon Brown out for Saturday's game against the Ravens.
Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the team's win over the Patriots and played just 10 snaps in the game.
Brown's absence opens the door for veteran Wesley Woodyard and rookie David Long Jr.. Against the Patriots, Woodyard played 27 snaps, while Long, a sixth-round pick from West Virginia, played 24 snaps alongside inside backer Rashaan Evans.
Long improved during the course of the 2019 season, and he finished the season with 15 stops. Long was credited with four stops against the Patriots. He's also been a contributor on special teams.
"It means a lot for me to have a chance with the guys," Long said. "I have been watching and learning from them, and they have seen my improvement. Whatever opportunity presents itself, I am going to take full advantage of it."
Long knows the challenge this week, when the defense will aim to stop quarterback Lamar Jackson and the high-scoring Ravens offense.
"They've got a lot of playmakers over there," Long said. "So for us to make things happen, we have to play together as a defense. … In the Big 12, I played against a lot of really good offenses, the spread, but it is different players in the NFL, way bigger o-linemen. It's a whole different ball game."
Action Jackson Ready for More
Titans cornerback Adoree' Jackson didn't practice on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, but he was a full participant in Thursday's practice and is ready to go for Saturday.
"I got all the work I needed to do, mentally and physically, so I could be ready to play a hard-fought game," Jackson said. "I'm good."
Jackson returned to action on Saturday against the Patriots, playing for the first time since December 1. Jackson had been sidelined with a foot injury.
Jackson played in 58 snaps against the Patriots, and he recorded a tackle. Titans coach Mike Vrabel complimented Jackson's coverage in the game.
Jackson's plan: Be better.
"When you talk about what's next, it's either improvement or complacency," Jackson said. "You just want to keep improving and do everything you can do to get better."
Injury Report
In addition to Brown (shoulder), receiver Adam Humphries (ankle) has also been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Ravens.
Receiver Cody Hollister (ankle), who was limited in Thursday's practice, is questionable.
Linebacker Kamalei Correa (illness), receiver Kalif Raymond (concussion), guard Nate Davis (illness) and running back Dion Lewis (shoulder) all appeared on the Injury Report during the week, but they're good to go.
