It's Jaguars Week: Quick Hits on the Titans After Thursday's Practice

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-Receiver Calvin Ridley was razzed by many of his former teammates when the Titans lost to the Jaguars earlier this month.

When the two teams meet again on Sunday, he's looking for some payback.

Or, at least, Ridley wants to be able to shut them up.

"I have to get them," Ridley said with a smile. "I worked hard today, and I am going to work hard the rest of the week. We're going into Jacksonville, and I want to beat them. They talked (expletive) to me last time, and I am ready to get 'em. … I heard some chirping. I want to chirp."

Ridley recorded 1,016 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 76 catches for the Jaguars in 2023.

In his first season with the Titans, Ridley has 857 receiving yards on 56 catches. He needs 143 yards to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in his NFL career.

He hopes to reach 1K again this season.

"It's something I want to do," said Ridley, who totaled 1,374 receiving yards in 2020 with the Falcons. "It would be my second one in a row."

-Receiver Tyler Boyd (foot) did not practice on Thursday.

-Kicker Nick Folk (abdomen) did not practice on Thursday.

-Safety Amani Hooker (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday.

-Running back Tony Pollard (ankle) did not practice on Thursday.

-Guard Dillon Radunz (shoulder) did not practice on Thursday.

-Linebacker Otis Reese IV (ankle) did not practice on Thursday.

-Linebacker Luke Gifford (concussion) practiced again on Thursday.

-Receiver Bryce Oliver was added to the Injury Report with a knee injury. Oliver was listed as a limited participant in today's practice.

-The Titans moved receiver Colton Dowell to the team's 'Designated for Return' list last week.

Dowell practiced with the team last week for the first time this season since suffering a torn ACL at the end of the 2023 season.

Dowell was back at practice on Thursday.

The designation opened up a three-week window for Dowell to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from the team's Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

When asked about Dowell last week, Coach Brian Callahan didn't rule out the possibility of Dowell playing in the finale against the Texans, but it didn't sound like it's very likely.

-Linebacker David Long Jr., claimed off waivers from the Lions on Wednesday, failed his physical on Thursday and he will not be joining the team.

-The Titans signed kicker Matthew Wright to the team's practice squad on Thursday.

Wright (5-11, 174) has played in 27 career NFL games over parts of five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2020, 2022), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021), Kansas City Chiefs (2022, 2024), Carolina Panthers (2023) and San Francisco 49ers (2024). The University of Central Florida product has connected on 51 of 59 career field goals (86.4 percent) and 40 of 42 extra point chances for 193 career points. In 2024, he has made good on 11 of 12 field goals and all five extra point opportunities with San Francisco (one game) and Kansas City (two contests).

-The Titans waived tackle Kellen Diesch from the team's practice squad on Thursday.

Next practice: Friday, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
