NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Monday's game vs the Miami Dolphins.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-I did a separate story on Titans receiver Treylon Burks on Wednesday. Burks, who returned to action against the Colts, talked publicly for the first time since suffering a concussion in the team's November 2 game in Pittsburgh. Here's a link to that story: CLICK HERE.
.
-Also today, I did a story on the team's roster moves. Earlier in the day, the Titans promoted linebacker Otis Reese IV to the team's 53-man roster while also adding punter Ty Zentner and linebacker JoJo Domann to the team's practice squad. CLICK HERE to read that story.
-It's a season of firsts for Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis.
Next up will be his first game on Monday Night Football, against the Dolphins.
"I knew that we only had a couple of prime-time games for the season," Levis said on Wednesday. "Knowing that we had Monday Night Football in Miami, expecting them to be a solid team, which they definitely are, we are excited to go out there and compete with them.
"Monday Night Football – it doesn't get much better than that. I've been watching it since I was a kid. Being able to go out there on that stage for the first time is going to be really special."
In his first six NFL starts, Levis has thrown for 1,266 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions, with a 57.8 % completion percentage and a passer rating of 86.9.
And here's a look at all the injury updates from Wednesday (the team won't put out its first Injury Report this week until Thursday):
-Running back Derrick Henry was back on the practice field on Wednesday. After being removed from Sunday's game, the Titans thought Henry might be headed for a week in concussion protocol. But Titans Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday Henry wasn't in protocol, and that remains the case today.
-Cornerback Kristian Fulton (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.
-Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.
-Guard Daniel Brunskill (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.
-Tight end Josh Whyle (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.
-Linebacker Joe Jones did not practice on Wednesday.
-The NFL released the first results of fan voting on Wednesday, and punter Ryan Stonehouse was first among all NFL punters in the voting. Running back Derrick Henry was ninth among all NFL running backs. Stonehouse, unfortunately, was lost for the season in Sunday's game with a knee injury.
-The Titans are scheduled to practice again on Thursday and Friday before holding a walkthrough on Saturday. The Titans will travel on Sunday, ahead of Monday night's game against the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.
