Quick Hits on the Titans From Wednesday of Colts Week

221019-quick-hits

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to ramp up preparations for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts at Nissan Stadium.

Here's a look at some Titans topics in quick-hitting fashion:

-Titans safety Amani Hooker has cleared concussion protocol and he's "good to go" for Sunday's game vs the Colts, per head coach Mike Vrabel.

Hooker, who has missed the past two games with the concussion he suffered against the Raiders back on September 25, was back on the practice field on Wednesday.

Hooker was listed as a full participant on today's Injury Report.

"It feels good (to back back)," Hooker said. "The process, it sucks because obviously after a couple of weeks you do start feeling a little better, but then again you wake up in the morning and you are not feeling right. … But I am happy to be back out there with my guys."

Hooker said he appreciates the Titans, and Vrabel, for being patience with him during the process.

"Also, seeing the Tua (Tagovailoa) thing happen, and seeing him come back a little too early, and obviously I didn't want that, and they didn't want me to have any more setbacks to prolong my return time," Hooker said. "So they did a great job of just making sure I was ready to go, and was healthy."

-Titans linebacker Zach Cunningham, who suffered an elbow injury vs the Raiders and has missed the past two games, did not practice on Wednesday.

-Titans outside linebacker Bud Dupree (hip), who missed the Commanders game and played just nine plays vs the Colts before aggravating his hip injury, was back on the practice field on Wednesday.

Dupree said before practice he feels good and is ready to go, and he sure looked good on Wednesday.

Dupree was listed as a full participant on today's Injury Report.

Heck, Dupree knocked over his position coach, Ryan Crow, during one drill in practice.

-Titans linebacker Joe Jones (hip), injured in the first game and Indianapolis before missing the game against the Commanders, did not practice on Wednesday.

-Titans guard Nate Davis, who missed the Washington game because of a foot injury, practiced on Wednesday. He was listed as limited on today's Injury Report

-Titans fullback Tory Carter, who has been dealing with a neck injury, practiced in a yellow caution jersey on Wednesday. He was listed as limited on today's Injury Report

-New Titans cornerback Josh Thompson, signed off the Jaguars practice squad on Tuesday and on to Tennessee's 53-man roster, practiced with the team for the first time. He's been assigned No. 29.

I chatted with Thompson before practice, and posted that video below:

-A big number of Titans were decked out in t-shirts with dogs on them on Wednesday. It's part of Mars Petcare's Adoption weekend.

Tight end Chig Okonkwo was wearing a cat on his shirt, and he says he has one at home.

He's a big cat guy, in fact.

-The Colts released their first Injury Report of the week on Wednesday and it looked like this: WR Keki Coutee (concussion), DE Kwity Paye (ankle), CB Stephen Gilmore (not injury related), C Ryan Kelly (not injury related), and DE Yannick Ngakoue (not injury related) did not practice. TE Kylen Granson (neck), LB Shaquille Leonard (concussion/nose/back) and RB Jonathan Taylor (ankle) were limited. S Julian Blackmon (ankle), RB Nyheim Hines (concussion) and RB Deon Jackson (quad) were full participants.

-The Titans are scheduled to practice again on Thursday and Friday before holding a walkthrough on Saturday leading up to Sunday's game vs the Colts.
