Quick Hits on the Titans From Thursday of Jaguars Week

QuickHits-(1)

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-I did a separate story on Titans running back Derrick Henry returning home to face the Jaguars, and his success against them over the years. CLICK HERE to read that story.

-A year ago, Arden Key lined up as a member of the Jaguars against the Titans.

This Sunday in Jacksonville, the Titans edge rusher will face his old teammates.

"It's going to be mixed emotions," said Key, who signed with the Titans in March. "A lot of those guys I still talk to, a lot of those coaches I still talk to. It's going to be good to see their faces, to shake their hands pregame.

"But when the game starts, hopefully we can go out there and get this dub."

Key, in his sixth NFL season, has 14 tackles, 31 quarterback pressures and 2.5 sacks in 2023 with the Titans.

In 2022, Key played in 17 games with three starts with the Jaguars and he totaled 27 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 38 QB pressure.

Yet, the Jaguars didn't re-sign him.

"There is definitely some extra there," Key said when asked if he'll have extra motivation. "I started off with R&B (music), and there's going to be a lot more R&B this week just to keep the energy sustained into gameday."

-The Titans claimed offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton off waivers on Wednesday, and he practiced with the team for the first time on Thursday, in uniform No. 72.

Throckmorton (6-5, 309) was waived by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday. Throckmorton started the past seven games (four at right guard, three at left guard) for the Panthers. The former Oregon lineman started 20 games for the Saints over the past three seasons. In his career, Throckmorton has played in 40 games, with 27 starts.

Now, here's a look at more injury updates from today, as well as other developments:

-Receiver Treylon Burks (concussion) did not practice again on Thursday.

-Tackle Andre Dillard (concussion) did not practice again on Thursday.

-Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (thumb), limited in practice on Wednesday, was back at practice on Thursday, and he was once again listed as a limited participant. Murphy-Bunting acknowledged this week he had thumb surgery recently, and he said he's recovering.

-Cornerback Anthony Kendall (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday.

-Cornerback Eric Garror (neck) practiced in full again today.
