Quick Hits on the Titans From Thursday of Dolphins Week

QuickHits-(9)

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Monday's game vs the Miami Dolphins.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons won't play on Monday night, and he hates it.

Simmons suffered a knee injury against the Colts, and Coach Mike Vrabel said earlier this week he expects Simmons to miss a couple of weeks.

"Especially being on Monday night, that's a big game, because it's the next game, and this is a great team," Simmons said in the locker room on Thursday. "They have a lot of skill guys, track stars. I wish I was out there. I love the game of football. Injuries suck, but it happened. It's going to be different."

Simmons said he plans to watch film with his teammates, and give them tips heading into the game.

"Like, this week, I was just talking about some of their guards, saying "This is what I see," Simmons said. "That's the biggest thing, just (trying ) to help with my leadership off the field, and (finding ways) to contribute."

Simmons left the game with the injury, then briefly returned, before eventually leaving for good.

Simmons said he got fell on, and "it happened," when discussing the injury. Simmons said his leg felt a little loose, and he told the trainers "and they made a good decision to pull me out of the game."

"I was kind of pissed off still," Simmons said. "But at the end of the day they care about our safety, and they made the best decision for myself and the team."

Simmons isn't sure if he'll travel with the team for Monday night's game. He'll talk to Vrabel later in the week about that decision.

"Watching it on the TV will be for sure different (if that's the case)," Simmons said. "But that's part of the game; injuries happen. It sucks. (I'd) rather be out there on that field. But stuff happens in this game."

-I did a separate story on Titans running back Derrick Henry on Thursday. Henry said he feels good about leaving Sunday's game with concussion symptoms. CLICK HERE to read that story.
