Quick Hits on the Titans From Thursday of Chargers Week

QuickHits-(3)

NASHVILLE – The Titans hit the practice field on Thursday to continue preparations for Sunday's home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Here's a look at the developments of the day, in quick-hitting fashion …

-Receiver Treylon Burks, excused from practice on Wednesday for personal reasons, was back at practice on Thursday.

Burks said the entire receiving corps is ready to return to action on Sunday.

"I just feel like we have to get ready for the Chargers and move on away from the loss, even though it hurts," Burks said. "We have to build on it this week and get better.

"(The Chargers) are really good on the back end. We just have to go out and play fast and play our brand of football."

Burks caught two passes for 18 yards against the Saints, but he was targeted just three times.

Burks said the receivers need to be better as a group to help quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who threw three interceptions in the opener.

"There were some details we needed to hone in on, to be there for Ryan," Burks said. "It wasn't just on Ryan – it was on all of us. We could have played our part better, and we just need to leave that in the past and move on."

The Titans kicked five field goals on Sunday, when the offense went 0-for-3 in the red zone.

Burks said the Titans need to get off to a better start on Sunday.

"That's real important – that's one thing that we harp on, starting fast," Burks. "And we need to do that, just because that is our brand of football, and everything else will take care of itself."

-Titans safety Amani Hooker remains in the team's concussion protocol, and he didn't practice again on Thursday.

Earlier in the week, Titans Coach Mike Vrabel named Elijah Molden, Matt Jackson and Mike Brown among the options opposite Kevin Byard at the safety position, along with Shyheim Carter, who is on practice squad.

-Receiver DeAndre Hopkins did not practice on Thursday for the second straight day. Hopkins is listed in the Injury Report with an ankle injury.

-Running back Tajae Spears (groin), limited in Wednesday's practice, was on the practice field on Thursday and listed as a full participant.

-Defensive lineman Teair Tart (groin), limited in Wednesday's practice, was back on the practice field on Thursday on a limited basis.

-Cornerback Tre Avery (hamstring) practiced in full again on Thursday.

-Offensive lineman Dillon Radunz (knee) practiced in full again on Thursday.

-Cornerback Kristian Fulton was on the practice field for the stretch period again on Thursday. Fulton was listed as a limited participant on the team's Injury Report with a hamstring injury for the second day in a row.

-The Titans signed running back Jacques Patrick to the team's practice squad on Thursday, and released guard Jordan Roos from the practice squad.

Patrick practiced with the team on Thursday, decked out in No.35.

I chatted with Patrick before practice.

-The Chargers released second Injury Report on Thursday, and it looked like this: OLB Joey Bosa (hamstring), running back Austin Ekeler (ankle), and LB Eric Kendricks (hamstring/personal) did not practice. LB Daiyan Henley (hamstring) and OLB Chris Rumph II (hamstring) were limited.

The Chargers will update their Injury Report later today.

-Titans OC Tim Kelly, DC Shane Bowen and ST coordinator Craig Aukerman all talked to reporters before Thursday's practice.

-I did a separate story on Titans running back Derrick Henry today. CLICK HERE to ready that story.

-The Titans return to the practice field on Friday. The team will practice on Friday before a walk-through on Saturday ahead of Sunday's noon game at Nissan Stadium.
