Quick Hits on the Titans From Thursday of Bills Week

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Monday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Here's a look at some Titans topics in quick-hitting fashion:

-Titans rookie Treylon Burks got his first taste of life in the NFL in the preseason.

In Sunday's season opener against the Giants, he got the real thing, and said it was an eye-opener.

"Going out there and actually getting a feel for the environment, the atmosphere of the fans that we have, and then just going out and having fun and playing the game we love," Burks said. "Just seeing how competitive (it is), how hard the other team is going to work, how hard that we need to work."

Burks caught three passes for 55 yards against the Giants, including two that went for first downs.

Earlier in the week, Coach Mike Vrabel said the Titans want to see Burks make guys miss with some moves instead of always trying to run over defenders.

Burks acknowledged it's an area he could probably improve.

"Me, I just want to set the tone and let them know I am not afraid of contact," Burks said. "I am here to play ball."

The next challenge comes on the road against the Bills in Buffalo.

"Obviously I have never played there," Burks said. "But just from listening in the meetings, from coach Vrabel and hearing how loud their fans are going to be. So, there is going to be a big emphasis on paying attention and cadence is going to be everything."

Burks said he hopes to build on his performance from the opener.

"I just want to go out there and keep attacking it the way I did the first game," Burks said, "and God will take care of the rest."

-OLB/DE Gerri Green, signed to the team's practice squad earlier in the day, practiced with the team for the first time, decked out on No. 40 - Von Miller's number with the Bills. Green replaced David Anenih, who was signed to Pittsburgh's active roster, and the number he's officially been assigned is 54.

-Titans outside linebackers Bud Dupree and Rashad Weaver are both coming off solid performances in the opener, but they know a big challenge awaits in Buffalo with quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills offense.

-Titans receiver Robert Woods was a second-round draft pick of the Bills in 2013 and he played four seasons in Buffalo.

He'll return Buffalo on Monday night.
