Quick Hits on the Titans From Friday of Texans Week

221028-quick-hits

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game against the Texans at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Here's a look at some Titans topics in quick-hitting fashion:

-Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill did not practice on Friday and he's QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game, per head coach Mike Vrabel.

"We're going to try and give him as much time as we possibly can," Vrabel said. "We feel like we're prepared with whatever may happen. We'll see how it goes – we still have some time before the game."

Tannehill suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's game vs the Colts, and he missed practices on Wednesday and Friday. Tannehill was listed as limited in Thursday's session.

In addition to the ankle injury, the Titans also add 'illness' next to Tannehill's name on the Injury Report.

Vrabel said Titans back-up quarterback Malik Willis took advantage of his opportunities in practice in trying "to lead and function as our quarterback."

Willis on Friday said he felt like he had a good week of practice.

"I think it went pretty good," Willis said. "Just being prepared is probably my best bet, and I've been trying to do that to the best of my ability."

-Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (ankle) did not practice again on Friday and he's also QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.

Simmons chatted with reporters after practice in the locker room on Friday.

A clip of that interview is below:

-Titans outside linebacker Rashad Weaver (back) did not practice again on Friday and he's been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.

-Titans fullback Tory Carter (neck) did not practice again on Friday and he's been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.

-Titans linebacker Zach Cunningham, who suffered an elbow injury vs the Raiders and has missed the past three games, practiced again on Friday and he's a go for Sunday.

"It's good to have Zach back," Vrabel said. "We'll see how it goes on Sunday. How much would it help? As much as having a starting linebacker in your defense who's been out a couple of weeks could help."

-Titans linebacker Joe Jones (hip), who has missed the past two games, also practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-Titans guard Nate Davis, who has missed the past two games with a foot injury, was limited on Friday but he's good to go.

-Titans outside linebacker Bud Dupree (hamstring) practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-Titans center Ben Jones (knee) was limited on Friday but he's good to go.

-Titans linebacker David Long Jr. (groin) practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-Titans lineman Aaron Brewer (toe) practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-Titans linebacker Dylan Cole (hamstring) practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-Titans long snapper Morgan Cox (ankle) practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-The Titans added safety Kevin Byard (not injury related) to the Injury Report on Friday but he's good to go.

-The Texans released their final Injury Report on Friday, and it looked like this: DL Maliek Collins (chest), WR Nico Collins (groin), OL Kenyon Green (shoulder), OL Justin McCray (hand), DL A.J. Cann (illness), DL Rasheem Green (knee) and WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) are all listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.

-The Titans are scheduled to hold a walkthrough on Saturday before traveling to Houston for Sunday's game vs the Texans.
