It's Packers Week: Quick Hits on the Titans After Friday's Titans Practice

092024-quick-hits

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game vs the Green Bay Packers.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-Titans linebacker Harold Landry has started the 2024 season the way he ended the 2023 season – on a roll.

Landry has three sacks in the team's first two games, including a pair of sack this past Sunday against the Jets.

Landry had five sacks in the final five games last season, and a total of 10.5 for the season.

Landry said he feels like he's in a bit of a groove, and he wants it to continue.

"I always say: Every time I step on the field, I am trying to prove I am that I am that versatile, consistent and productive player," Landry said. "Every time I step on the field, I am trying to check all three of those boxes."

Landry isn't sure which quarterback he'll be facing on Sunday when the Packers visit.

Jordan Love returned to practice this week after missing Week 2 with a knee injury, and he's listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Malik Willis, a former Titan, started for the Packers and guided the team to a win over the Colts.

"We feel like it's about us this week," Landry said. "We all just have to go out and do our jobs defensively."

-Guard Peter Skoronski will be the team's extra captain this week, as decided by the team's leadership group.

Skoronski, whose grandfather, Bob, played on the offensive line for the Packers under Vince Lombardi, called it "a huge honor."

Peter Skoronski said on Friday he grew up a huge Packers fan. His grandfather was his hero, and he always wanted to be like him and follow in his footsteps.

"I adored him, and I adored the Packers, and I was a diehard Packers fan for pretty much my whole life, until I was drafted," Skoronski said. "That organization will always be significant to me and my family just because of my grandfather's life, and the life that he lived."

Skoronski said roughly 20 friends and family members will travel to Nashville for the game. They've all adopted the Titans as their team now.

"It will still be business as usual for me," Skoronski said of the game. "We're anxious to get a win, I'm anxious to get a win, and they have a hell of a front seven."

-The Titans released their final injury report of the week.

-Running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) is QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game. Spears practiced in full on Friday, however.

-Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons practiced in full again Friday and he's good to go.

-Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed practiced in full again Friday and he's good to go.

-Linebacker Luke Gifford (back), who is on the team's practice squad, returned to practice Friday and he'll be available if needed.

-The Titans added long snapper Morgan Cox to the injury report with an ankle, but he practiced in full and is good to go.

The Packers released their final Injury Report on Friday, via head coach Matt LaFleur.

In addition to Love (knee) being listed as QUESTIONABLE, cornerback Carrington Valentine (ankle) is DOUBTFUL and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan (shoulder) has been ruled OUT.

Next up: Green Bay Packers, Sunday, noon.
