It's Jets Week: Quick Hits on the Titans After Friday's Practice

quick-hits-9-13-24

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for the home opener on Sunday vs the New York Jets.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind for Titans defensive line coach Tracy Rocker.

Rocker made a cross-country flight to Seattle after Thursday's practice to watch his son, former Vanderbilt pitcher Kumar Rocker, make his MLB debut last night for the Texas Rangers.

Rocker then took the red-eye flight back to Nashville after the game, and was at Friday morning's practice.

It was a memorable night for the Rocker family, as Kumar struck out seven Mariners in his debut, allowing just three hits and one run in four innings. The Rangers rallied to win the contest.

On Friday, the Titans celebrated Rocker by showing highlights in a team meeting.

"I talked to (Tracy) before, when we got the word we were going to be able to make it work to send him out there," Coach Brian Callahan said. "He was about as excited as I've ever seen anybody, to get a chance to see your son go make his major league debut is pretty awesome. And it was cool to hear him talk about how he kept thinking back to those days where he was taking his kid out to go play catch, and buckets of balls. So, a cool moment for him – I am really happy Amy (Adams Strunk) allowed that to happen and we could get him there and back and him not miss any practice. Really, really cool to see that.

"I played all the highlights in the team meeting this morning so guys could see him hit his seven strikeouts. Cool moment. That's what it is all about. … It was cool to see him pitch. I watched a little bit of it live – that was really neat."

-The Titans Injury Report this week is pretty neat as well.

The four Titans listed on the report earlier in the week have been cleared to play, not one with a game status designation.

-Titans guard Dillon Radunz (rib) practiced and he's good to go.

-Linebacker Otis Reese (concussion) practiced and he's good to go.

-Guard Peter Skoronski (neck), added to the Injury Report on Thursday, practiced and he's good to go.

-Safety Jamal Adams (hip) practiced again on Friday and he's good to go.

-Receiver DeAndre Hopkins, limited in work last week, had a good week and he's good to go. He's not even listed on the Injury Report.

-The Titans added cornerbacks L'Jarius Sneed (NIR-Rest) and Chidobe Awuzie (hip) to the Injury Report on Friday and listed them as limited participants, but they're good to go for Sunday.

The Jets released their final Injury Report on Friday: CB D.J. Reed (knee) and DL Michael Clemons (tricep) are both listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.

-Titans outside linebacker Harold Landry will be the team's weekly captain on Sunday.

Landry was selected by the team's leadership council. He'll join the team's season-long captains at the coin flip.
