It's Dolphins Week: Quick Hits on the Titans from Wednesday

QuickHits

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park on Wednesday to begin preparations for Monday's game at the Miami Dolphins.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-Rookie cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was born in Miami Gardens, Florida.

He grew up roughly five minutes away from Hard Rock Stadium.

On Monday night, Brownlee will return home – in a bigger role – when the Titans face the Dolphins.

With cornerback Chidobe Awuzie sidelined with an injury, Brownlee will slide into his spot.

"It's going to be a great feeling," Brownlee said, "knowing I'm doing something that I love doing. It's a dream come true. Just to be able to go back home and play on a high level in front of my family and friends, I don't think there's a better feeling than that."

The Titans picked Brownlee in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

In three games, Brownlee has recorded five tackles, including two tackles for a loss.

He's ready for what's next.

"I know these coaches, there's a certain standard that they set for me, and that's to not act like I'm a rookie any more," Brownlee said. "I don't have that time to do that. So, for me, it's about accepting that challenge and knowing these guys are right there with me. I am ready to accept the challenge and go to work."

-I did a separate story on Titans quarterback Will Levis on Wednesday.

Here's the story on Levis: CLICK HERE.

-The Titans held a walk-through on Wednesday, and they'll return to the practice field on Thursday.

-Coach Brian Callahan said it's likely Awuzie will be placed on Injured Reserve at some point.

-Callahan said he expects Nicholas Petit-Frere and Jaelyn Duncan to both work at right tackle this week in practices, and he indicated both could play on Monday night. Callahan didn't reveal which player the team might start at right tackle.

-Callahan indicated the team plans to sign linebacker Luke Gifford, who is currently on the practice squad, to the 53-man roster at some point. The Titans made Gifford a gameday elevation for the first three games of the season.

-Because of the Monday night game, the Titans and Dolphins aren't required to release an Injury Report until Thursday.

Next practice: Thursday, 1:05-2:35 p.m.
