NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thursday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Monday's game at the Miami Dolphins.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson watched the tape from Sunday's game vs the Packers, and he didn't like what he saw.
The math was ugly.
"Missed tackles," Wilson said. "We had 15 missed tackles for 118 yards, which is very uncharacteristic of our defense."
Heading into Monday's game against the Dolphins, it's a big point of emphasis.
"You just have to stress it," Wilson said of the tackling. "It starts in (individual) drills (in practice). It's the way you fit when the pads are on, or even when the pads are off during practice. Like today, guys have to run to the ball and get into position, lower their center of gravity … and simulate and finish on the ball.
"You have to be aware, you have to press the issue, and it will happen. For us, even preseason to that point, we were doing a great job of tackling."
-The Titans released their first Injury Report of the week on Thursday, and four players did not practice.
-Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (groin) did not practice.
-Receiver DeAndre Hopkins (NIR-Rest) did not practice.
-Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (elbow) did not practice.
-Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed (NIR-Rest) did not practice.
-Safety Amani Hooker (face) was limited in practice.
-The Dolphins released their first Injury Report of the week on Thursday, and it looked like this: T Terron Armstead (concussion), DT Calais Campbell (NIR-Rest), CB Kendall Fuller (concussion), LB David Long (hamstring) and CB Siran Neal (hamstring) did not practice. CB Storm Duck (shoulder), FB Alec Ingold (shoulder/knee), RB Raheem Mostert (chest), QB Skylar Thompson (ribs) and WR Malik Washington (quadriceps) were limited in practice. LB Jaelan Phillips (Achilles/shoulder) was a full participants.
