It's Dolphins Week: Quick Hits on the Titans After Friday's Practice

QuickHits-(3)

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Monday's game at the Miami Dolphins.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-The Titans replaced a struggling Nicholas Petit-Frere at right tackle in the middle of this past Sunday's game against the Packers, and on Friday, Coach Brian Callahan wasn't ready to announce a starter for Monday night at the position.

Jaelyn Duncan, who replaced Petit-Frere against Green Bay, popped up on the Injury Report on Friday with a shoulder injury, and was listed as limited.

Petit-Frere said on Friday he feels he's had a good week of practice, and he's ready to earn his job.

"I think the week's been good," Petit-Frere said. "A lot of practicing. We've been competing a lot this week. It's about making sure I know what I'm doing and being technically sound.

"That's always been my thing: In the NFL, it's the most competitive league, so every day is not guaranteed, so you have to compete. So, that's what it has been every day for me: Find a way to compete and get better … and become a better football player."

Here's a video clip of Petit-Frere in the locker room on Friday:

-The Titans made several roster moves on Friday. Linebacker Luke Gifford was promoted from the practice squad to the team's 53-man roster, and cornerback Chidobe Awuzie was placed on Injured Reserve.

Here's a story on that transaction: CLICK HERE.

-The Titans also signed defensive lineman McTelvin Agim to the team's practice squad.

Here's a clip of Agim at today's practice:

-Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (elbow) did not practice again on Friday, and Callahan said he's day to day.

-The Titans released their second Injury Report of the week on Friday.

Some updates:

-Receiver DeAndre Hopkins returned to practice today after being given a day of rest on Thursday.

Here's Hopkins in the locker room after practice, on a number of topics:

-Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed returned to practice after getting an off day on Thursday.

-Safety Amani Hooker (face) was limited in practice for the second day in a row.

I checked in on Hooker, who needed eight stitches after Sunday's game, after practice:

-I mentioned Duncan earlier, but will drop it in again here. Duncan was added to the Injury Report with a shoulder injury, and listed as a limited participant in today's session.

-The Dolphins released their second Injury Report of the week on Friday, and it looked like this: T Terron Armstead (concussion) did not practice; DT Calais Campbell (NIR-Rest) was full after being held out on Thursday; CB Kendall Fuller (concussion) and LB David Long (hamstring) did not practice; CB Siran Neal (hamstring) and CB Storm Duck (shoulder) were limited; FB Alec Ingold (shoulder/knee) was full; RB Raheem Mostert (chest), QB Skylar Thompson (ribs) and WR Malik Washington (quadriceps) were all limited in practice on Friday. LB Jaelan Phillips (Achilles/shoulder) was a full participant. WR Tyreek Hill (NIR-Rest) was limited on Friday.

-The Titans are scheduled to travel to South Florida on Sunday for Monday night's game vs the Dolphins.

Next practice: Saturday (closed to media).
