NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Thanksgiving Day at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Washington Commanders.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-Titans cornerback Chidobe Awuzie is nearing a return to action, and he's excited about it.

"It's amazing to be back out there with the guys," Awuzie said on Thursday, when he practiced for the second time since being placed on the team's 'Designated for Return' list on Wednesday. "Being on the sideline, and seeing how the team is improving, it's really made my heart warm and brings that competitive fire.

"I want to be out there with the guys and make an impact as well, and contribute however I can contribute. I am just looking to get all the way there, and when my number is called, being ready to go."

The return to practice designation opened up a three-week window for Awuzie to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

Awuzie, signed by the team this offseason after playing previously with the Cowboys and Bengals, played in the team's first three games of the season before suffering a groin injury against the Packers on September 22.

Awuzie was placed on Injured Reserve on September 27.

Awuzie complimented the play of fellow cornerbacks Darrell Baker, Jarvis Brownlee and Roger McCreary is his absence.

After two days of practice, he believes he's close to returning to game action.

"I feel really close," Awuzie said. "I am out there, and I am moving around, doing things. Now I think it's just stacking days, and volume, and I'll be good to go."
