NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game at the Washington Commanders.

Here's a look at today's developments:

-Titans running back Tyjae Spears is expected to be back in the mix this Sunday.

Coach Brian Callahan said on Friday the expectation is Spears will clear concussion protocol later today, clearing the way for his return.

Spears was inactive last Sunday after suffering a concussion in the team's game against the Vikings.

The team listed Spears as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game.

"Tyjae just has to officially clear the protocol, which should happen today," Callahan said. "As long as that goes as anticipated, we should have Tyjae for the game as well."

-Titans cornerback Chidobe Awuzie won't play this weekend.

Awuzie was placed on the team's 'Designated for Return' list on Wednesday. The return to practice designation opened up a three-week window for Awuzie to practice with the team, and he will not count against the team's 53-man roster until being activated from Injured Reserve.

Callahan said Awuzie has made progress, but he won't return this week.

"He had a really good week," Callahan said. "Hopeful that next week may be it."

Awuzie, signed by the team this offseason after playing previously with the Cowboys and Bengals, played in the team's first three games of the season before suffering a groin injury against the Packers on September 22.

Awuzie was placed on Injured Reserve on September 27.

-The Titans on Friday promoted defensive back Daryl Worley to the team's 53-man roster.

Here's that story below:

-Tackle Leroy Watson, who has missed the last two games with a back injury, has been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.

-Cornerback Roger McCreary will be the team's extra captain this week.

Now, all the injury updates from Friday:

-Titans linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring) returned to practice on Friday and he's good to go.

-Edge rusher Arden Key (back) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-Edge rusher Harold Landry (NIR-Rest) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-Cornerback Roger McCreary (knee) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-Receiver Calvin Ridley (ankle) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (NIR-Rest) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-Cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. (ribs) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-Defensive back Justin Hardee (groin) practiced again Friday.

-Safety Amani Hooker (illness) practiced again Friday and he's good to go.

-The Commanders will release their final injury report on Friday, and it looked like this:

RB Austin Ekeler (concussion) and T Andrew Whyie (concussion) have been ruled OUT. CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) is listed as DOUBTFUL.

The Titans will hold a walkthrough on Saturday before traveling for Sunday's game at the Commanders.
