NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game vs the Indianapolis Colts.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-The Titans promoted offensive tackle Leroy Watson IV to the team's 53-man roster.
Coach Brian Callahan said the plan is for Watson to compete with Nicholas Petit-Frere for the starting job at right tackle during the practice week.
Watson said he's excited about the chance.
"I am extremely grateful, to get a chance to prove (myself)," Watson said after today's practice. "It's what I wanted when I first came here, when they traded for me. I'm glad it came around so I can really prove this franchise (right)."
The Titans acquired Watson in a trade with the Browns back in April, sending a 2024 seventh-round pick (#227) to Cleveland to bring him to Tennessee.
Watson played in seven games for the Browns in 2023, with no starts. Watson (6-5, 311) spent his rookie season in 2022 on the 49ers practice squad after initially signing with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent. Watson played 46 snaps for the Titans in the team's preseason game against Seattle.
Watson describes himself as a physical player.
"Physical," Watson said. "Physical football, that's what I believe in. I think if you can run the ball well, and you can pass the ball it helps everything out. So I like to run the ball, and I like to be very (expletive) physical."
-I did a separate story on Titans quarterback Will Levis on Wednesday, when he gave an update on his condition.

-Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was optimistic about his chances of playing on Sunday.
Simmons said he expects a "street fight" against the Colts.
