NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for the season opener on Sunday vs the Chicago Bears.
Here's a look at today's developments:
-Titans receiver DeAndre Hopkins practiced for the third straight day on Friday.
Hopkins was listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game on the team's official Injury Report.
"He's gotten plenty of work," Coach Brian Callahan said of Hopkins. "He's worked in individual (periods), and he (got) his team reps. It's more about the conditioning, making sure he's ready to go play.
"So far, everything in that process has been really smooth."
Hopkins returned to the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since July 31.
Hopkins, who missed all three preseason contests with a knee injury, is expected to be a game-time decision.
"Any time a guy is limited like that, we'll go all the way to game time to make sure everything is all good," Callahan said. "We'll take it all the way to Sunday."
-Safety Jamal Adams (hip) has officially been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.
Callahan gave an update on Adams.
"It turned out it was a little bit more significant than initially thought," Callahan said of Adams and his injury. "But he is tracking to be ready to return to practice pretty soon here. Just making sure he is all the way back and ready to roll."
Callahan said Adams has been working on the field and in meetings while recovering.
-Linebacker Otis Reese (concussion) has also been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.
-Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie was added to the Injury Report with a calf injury and listed as QUESTIONABLE. Awuzie was limited in Friday's practice.
-The Bears released their final version of the Injury Report on Friday, and it looked like this: WR Keenan Allen (heel), DL Montez Sweat (toe), DL DeMarcus Walker (groin) and DL Darrell Taylor (foot) are all QUESTIONABLE. DL Zacch Pickens (groin) has been ruled OUT for Sunday's game.
-Titans tight end Josh Whyle said he plans to wear a Guardian Cap in Sunday's game, and during the 2024 season.
I did a separate story on that:
