NASHVILLE – Shrine Bowl. ✅
Senior Bowl. ✅
Super Bowl is up next.
And, then, the race for the 2025 season's Lombardi Trophy will officially be under way.
After hitting practices at the two all-star games, and chatting with a lot of team personnel over the past week, I'm going to jump in here for a quick Titans mailbag before another busy week ahead.
Hope everyone is doing well…

Rick Pinkerton from Terryville, Connecticut
Question: Jim, thanks for all you do. If the Titans drafted Travis Hunter would he [play both offense and defense? If that was the case, when was the last time that happened? Do you think that it is possible that we sign a QB veteran who can mentor Will, or do you think that ship has sailed?
Jim: Too many hypotheticals with the Travis Hunter question, Rick. He has to be the pick, first, and that's far from a guarantee at this point. Where he plays depends on the team that drafts him. Pacman Jones played defense and some offense for the Titans after he was picked. … All options still on the table at QB.
Gary Henson from Deerfield Beach, Florida
Question: Hi Jim been a Oilers/Titans fan since 1974. LUV YA BLUE those were the days!!!! I would love to see the Titans draft Abdul Carter whether #1 or take a chance and trade down and still get him and extra picks. Your opinion? Titan Up!!!!
Jim: Abdul Carter has been a popular pick by those who think the team won't take a QB.
Brian Holloway from Dothan, Alabama
Question: Hey Jim. Only been a Titans fan last several years as no pro teams in south Alabama! The last home game this month was my wife and I first Titans game! Even though wet and cold we had fun and hope to attend many more!
I feel Titans should trade down to get multiple picks to address multiple position needs as QB is not the only problem. I think I would take Cater out of Penn St in the first and pick up a QB like J. Milroe, in the 2nd to 4th round. Go trade for at least one good veteran QB for a year maybe two, maybe keep Levis as #2 to learn from QB1 along with the help Coach Callahan mentioned in off season, and like a Milroe at #3. Then you can way the growth and performance of the 2 & 3 QB at the end of 2025 with what I believe will be a stronger 26 QB draft class? Am I way off in this thinking?
Jim: Glad you had fun, Brian. Trading back is another option, and it should be strongly considered, I think. The team needs more than a QB. It needs more than an edge rusher. It needs more than a guy who could play offense and defense. But so much depends on what other teams are thinking behind the Titans. I'm curious about a veteran QB myself. But It takes two to tango in these trade scenarios, and in free agency.
Tyler Kuppler from Indiana
Question: Jim, maybe I have missed it, but is there a list yet to replace Mike Keith in the booth? It's an impossible task, but there are a few great local options. Jonathan Hutton, Lucas Panzica, or even a surprise candidate like Rhett Bryan would surely be top of the list.
Jim: No one has been hired, and it's still early in the process. Mike is going to be a tough guy to replace, that's for sure.
Lamont Davis from Chattanooga, Tennessee
Question: We have a real problem at quarterback!! Will Levis this year threw 13 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and 10 fumbles. How can a person(s) even suggest giving him another shot at the helm as the Titans starting quarterback? I am a fan since, McNair, George, Mason, Kearse, Thigpen and Wycheck!!
Jim: I think people have suggested it because they've seen other guys who've been written off have success. Steve McNair is one of them. He threw 14 TDs and 13 INTs in his third NFL season, and really never soared until he was five, six years into his career. I'm not saying this is going to happen with Will. I'm just saying it has happened before.
Rylan Lynn from Wibaux, Montana
Question: Hey Jim, hope all is well. My question is, what do you think of a trade down for Jaxson Dart? He has experience, and just as good of stats as Ward or Sanders and he has shown he was one of the best QBs in college football this past year. I'm an Ole Miss fan so this is a little biased, but if I had to choose I would take Dart or Sanders or Ward. I also think we could trade down and take him and get extra picks as well
Jim: Hey Rylan. I noticeed Dan Orlovsky say on Friday he thinks Dart is going in Round 1, but he didn't say how early he thinks he'll go. I thought both Dart and Milroe both settled down in Mobile after a slow start on Tuesday, and they're both intriguing to me. But they still have a lot to prove. And, they'll have chances at the NFL Combine, their pro days, and 30 visits to convince teams they're worth taking.
Anthony Jasso from Pearland, Texas
Question: Hi Jim! First of all, thank you for all the responses you have given to Titan Nation thru out the years... I honestly don't have a real reason to write to you . I think I'm just venting. I turn 52 years old in February. I was born an Oilers fan, and I will die a Titans fan... I have been to numerous Oilers games at the Astrodome, and I have traveled to Nashville for home openers for over 20 years. We, as Titan Nation have been through so many ups and downs, but this 2024 season seems worse than the 2014 Ken Whisenhunt era... I know that the NFL always has their ups and downs. I will D I E for my Titans! I live in the Houston area, and I always fight for my Titans. I believe and trust the organization, no matter what! I just feel that, we, us , Titan Nation, must stay together more than ever.... Titan Up! No matter what!
Jim: Good to hear from you, Anthony. And I know the team appreciates your loyalty, and support.
Dick Clodfelter from Bell Buckle, Tennessee
Question: Hi Jim. Hoping for a happier Titans new year in 2025. Thanks for all you do to help us probably mostly frustrated fans vent and sound off. No question this time, just wish Coach Callahan would seriously consider yielding the important duty for calling plays on offense to someone else who can hopefully do that job better than he did last season. Then he might be able to concentrate on doing a more effective job of managing all aspects of his head coach's responsibilities. Looking forward to the coming season's draft and free agent improvement possibilities. And a better final season's record, too! Cheers
Jim: I don't think he's going to do it, Dick. Brian has been asked about it several times, and he's made it very clear he wants to continue calling plays.
Darris Mays from Lewisville, Texas
Question: Thanks, Jim. I pray all is well! I think if the Titans take a QB please draft Cam Ward or Jalen Milroe. I promise you won't regret it. Sanders had his daddy coaching him. If I were the GM I'm draft QB Cam Ward. Drama free. Sanders is a great QB but Cam Ward is the pick.
Jim: We'll see, Darris. A lot to be determined over the next few months.
Have a great weekend everyone!
