And, for those who've asked, here's info on the new stadium cam, as promised:
Martavius Anderson from Memphis, Tennessee
Question: Hey big Titans fan and been here for all the highs and lows I have a multipart question.
First with all the projections of the Titans being the first overall pick in next season's draft with how close contests were while we struggled with OLine, injuries and a plethora of injuries last season plus the big additions we made where are these bold predictions coming from and where do you feel the team will land by week 18?
Second question: who is your #1 free agent addition you would like to see added to the two tone blue after the first week of camp?
Jim: Good to hear from you, Martavius. I must've missed all those projections with the Titans having the first overall pick. That's silly if so, and I'm not wasting my time discussing it. After losing 18 of the last 24 games, I believe this team will be on the upswing. As for more additions, I'm more interested in seeing how guys on the current roster perform. If more help is needed, then I could see the team adding players after they're released across the league and there's more to choose from, not after the first week of camp.
Ed Helinski from Auburn, New York
Question: Hey Jim, Hope your summer is going well. Training camp is here, and it couldn't have come soon enough.
How does this year's Titans roster rank in terms of overall quality as opposed to the past few years?
Jim: Hi Ed. On paper, this probably ranks as the Titans best offseason ever for adding talent. The team is better in a lot of different areas. But nothing is won on paper, now these players have to perform. We'll see some of it begin to play out in the coming weeks.
Roses Robertson from Las Cruces, New Mexico
Question: At some point, will the Titans retire King Henry's jersey number?
Jim: Possibly. I sure wouldn't want to be the next guy in No.22…
Jefferson Pendergrass from Rainsville, Alabama
Question: Hi Jim. Do you think Caleb Farley will make the 53-man roster for 2024?
Jim: Hi Jefferson. I think Caleb has his work cut out for him. L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie and Roger McCreary are the top three. I really like Jarvis Brownlee Jr., the team's fifth-round pick. Tre Avery and Eric Garror are contenders, and Gabe Jeudy-Lally had an impressive offseason. So, I've already mentioned seven guys at the position, and others are in the mix, too. So, Caleb is going to have to stay healthy, and he's going to have to be good. I know everyone around here is pulling for him.
Jeremy Rodriguez from Winchester, California
Question: Hey Jim, long time no type! Hope all is well. I've been reading you preview pieces and loving it! The kid I am really pulling for is Caleb Farley. If a kid has that much adversity to overcome and still compete, I want that kind of mental toughness and fortitude in the locker room. I am really hoping he shows out, Can't wait to see the reports from camp! Be safe and hydrate! As always TITAN UP!
Jim: Another vote for Caleb. Training camp observations start tomorrow!
Candace Compton from Los Angeles, California
Question: How's it looking for my son Andrew Rupcich #76 do u think he has secured his spot this season?
Jim: Hi Candace! Andrew has quite the fan club, from around the country. I'll say this: He's competing, and he's gotten better. He's very popular with his teammates and coaches. But he's at a position with a lot of competition, so he's going to need to perform well to give himself a chance of sticking.
Anthony Woods from Nashville, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim! Are the rumors true that the Titans are going to wear the Oilers throwbacks only once at the end of the season?
Jim: Hi Anthony. We've discussed this in here a few times this offseason, including at the owners meetings back in March. Here's what I said when Cainen Rosales from Mexico asked me about it back in May: With the light blue Titans uniforms coming back in 2024, we could see the Oilers uniforms just once during the season, and that could be during the 2025 calendar year (vs the Texans in January). ... From what I've heard, nothing has changed since.
Have a great week everyone!
