Joni Daniels from Antioch, Tennessee
Question: Nick Westbook-Ikhine has always been one of my favorite Titans. I don't feel that he has even been given the credit due for his contributions to the team. I'm happy that he has been signed on for another season. I have a feeling this season might be his best yet! What do you think?
Jim: Hi Joni. Nick has always been a fan favorite, in part because so many see him as an overachiever, a hard-working guy who has had to fight for everything he's gotten. Remember, he arrived in the NFL as an undrafted free agent. Nick is really going to have to earn it this year, because the team is as good as it has ever been at the position with DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, and Treylon Burks also coming back. As long as everyone stays healthy, reps are going to be tough to come by. So, Nick is going to have to make the most of his opportunities. But I wouldn't count him out, and my bet is he carves out a role for himself on offense and on special teams.
Darrell Dennis from Calhoun Falls, South Carolina
Question: Are the Titans done with free agency because there some more great names out the for cornerback and safety?
Jim: Hey Dennis. The team is in good shape at cornerback. It's no secret the team is interested in adding a safety, it's just a matter of who and when.
Anthony Vander Eyk from Chico, California
Question: Do you expect Ran to bring in another QB to complete for 2nd or 3rd string before training camp?
Jim: Ran actually mentioned adding another QB as a possibility at some point leading up to the NFL Draft, but the Titans haven't added one since. I wouldn't completely rule it out, but I fully expect the No.2 QB to be Mason Rudolph, with Malik Willis as the No.3, if the team keeps three QBs on the 53-man roster.
Eric McClellan from West Paducah, Kentucky
Question: Jim, any word on when the dates/times for the Titans preseason games will be finalized? Cautiously optimistic fan here, eagerly awaiting the start of the season. Titan Up!
Jim: Hey Eric. I was asking around about this yesterday. Sounds like we could know by the end of the week.
Edward McKinney from Antioch, Tennessee
Question: Hello Jim! I have been a Titan follower since they moved here in 1996. I am not sure the Titans have ever had this level of depth, excluding a few positions, such as FS and OLB. I have a question about CB Caleb Farley. We are deep at CB. Have the defensive coaches said anything about a possible move to safety for Caleb? Has he practiced at the safety position at all since his return?
Jim: I've been asked this a few times, Edward. My answer has always been the same: I'm not expecting it, and I haven't heard it mentioned as much of a possibility. Things could always change, I guess, but I think I'd be surprised.
Shane Jackson from Knoxville, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim, I was wondering what you think the Titans odds are of making the playoffs as a 7 or 6 seed. I was also wondering what your record prediction is for next season?
Jim: Hey Shane. I think the Titans will be better, and competitive. But working for the team, I never do predictions. If I predicted 13-4, I'd be a homer. If I predicted 4-13, I probably wouldn't be welcome on the charter. I've leave the predictions for others.
Have a great week everyone!
