NASHVILLE – It's been a busy stretch around here.
It seems like the addition of new general manager Mike Borgonzi has been pretty well received in Titan Land, and for good reason, I think.
Borgonzi comes from a winning organization, and he has a great reputation.
A lot of other stuff is swirling as well.
Let's dive in for a quick Tuesday mailbag…

Neil Carr from Bingley, United Kingdom
Question: Hi Jim. Can you offer up what Mike Borgonzi will do in his role as GM? It may seem a stupid, obvious question BUT what is the process he will go through once he takes over?
When he steps in the building on his first official day of work, what becomes his focus?
What will need to happen first? I assume that it then becomes a snowball effect but what will be his primary focus on day 1? How much say does he have over coaches and playing personnel? Can he step through the door and say, "I don't like him, him and him!" and get rid, or does he not have that level of power?
What if Callahan loves someone and Borgonzi simply doesn't rate and disagrees? How does that play out?
I'm curious about how the dynamics work as we have a lot to sort out before the draft and for the start of the season...presumably that starts the day he walks through the door...so what is focus #1 for him.
Cheers as always
Jim: Hey Neil. Mike is arriving in Nashville today. He'll be introduced at a press conference on Wednesday ay 11 a.m. at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park, when he'll answer a lot of questions about his job. What do I think his role will be as GM? I think he'll be in charge of putting together the 53-man roster, with a mission to build a team that will be able to compete year in and year out. And, I suspect he'll immediately get to work. The East-West Shrine Bowl practices start at the end of this week, and the Senior Bowl is next week. The head coach has control of his staff, but these guys will all work together, alongside President of Football Operations Chad Brinker, on the roster. It will be a process.
Jeremy Rodriguez from Winchester, California
Question: Hey Jim!! What a week. I hope Mike Borgonzi is the guy AAS thinks he is. I know the Chiefs are a great organization, with a great Family behind it. They also have this guy named Mahomes who elevates everyone's play. I need Borgonzi to find that guy. A guy that will make others better. I am not going in about the 1st pick as there are so many ways it can go and so many fans who do/don't want Sanders. I want a guy who can help turn this team around and get back to football in January. Have a great week, and as always TITAN UP!
Jim: Everyone would love to find that guy, Jeremy. Finding the right QB moving forward will be a big part of Borgonzi's job at the start.
Carolann Bryant from Nolensville, Tennessee
Question: What's your thoughts on rumors of Dak Prescott? He has missed games with injuries (this year more than normal I feel), so why would we roll the dice on him and only get the 12th pick out of it this year? I think if we give up the 1st pick we should get multiple picks this year for it. Just wondering your thoughts.
Jim: Hi Carolann. I've seen the rumors like everyone else. I think it's pretty far-fetched if you ask me, which you did.
Martin Villafuerte from Ciudad d Mexico
OBSERVACION: DEJEN IR A WILL LEVI !!!por favor!!.
Ed Helinski from Auburn, New York
Question: Hey Jim. Hope all is well and that 2025 has started out good.
With the regular season ending a few weeks ago and giving it some time to settle, what overall letter grade do you give the Titans for their efforts and results this past season? And why?
Jim: I give the team an F, Ed. Why? 3-14.
Isaac Hammer from Johnson City, Tennessee
Question: Hey Jim. What would you consider the team's biggest regrets and what do you consider the biggest needs for the coming season. Then on another note do you see a change in the staff, specifically "Special Teams", in the near future.
Jim: Biggest regret from this past season? Specifically, not doing a better job addressing the right tackle position. … The biggest needs? Figuring out the QB position, improving the offensive line. … Yes, I anticipate there will be a change on special teams this offseason. I'm sure you've seen the report from Tom Pelissero by now about a new hire. The team hasn't announced anything yet because it's not "official," and in the past such moves haven't been made public until the entire staff is finalized. We'll see how the head coach wants to handle things.
Steve Rolland from Bozeman, Montana
Question: Hey Jim. Greetings from the great white north. Born in Tennessee, and moved to MT in '87. Been a Titans fan since their move to Nashville.
Love Ya man! I'm sure it's not easy handling the vitriol that passes through this space regularly of late but you do so with finesse and grace.
A huge shout out and thank You to Mike Keith. He's an amazing play caller and personality. He'll be sorely missed and leaves some big shoes to fill.
Onto my question: Why does special teams coordinator Colt Anderson still have a job? Not sure, but I'm betting the Titans probably were in the top 5 for return yards allowed on kickoffs and punt returns. The Titans made to many highlight reels for all the wrong reasons. Is it just a case of failed execution by the players, (repeatedly), or is the coach to blame? To be blunt, they've sucked for the past few years. Stoney, Folk and Cox are all great, but that unit needs help.
And finally, with cold weather on the way, Titans fans, (and anyone else interested in protecting pipes from freezing) Don't forget to run any sink faucets that are on exterior walls to just drip a little; hot and cold valves if temps get into the single digits or lower. That tiny bit of flow can save thousands in repair bills. Stay warm. Titan up!
Jim: Good to hear from you, Steve. Been to Montana two of the last four summers. Man, it's beautiful. … Mike Keith will definitely be missed. Heck, I miss him already. … As I touched on with Isaac just above, it's been reported some things are in the works on the coaching staff, but we haven't mentioned anything on this site yet because of the reasons mentioned above. … Thanks for the cold weather tips!
Mickey Whitson from Rossville, Tennessee
Question: Just a response to the mailbag writer that is all in for drafting Sanders and making Deion coach. They are combined 0-6 against top 25 teams and 2-9 against teams with a .500 record. Just something to think about.
Jim: Don't worry, Mickey, this pairing is not happening in Tennessee.
Have a great week everyone!
