NASHVILLE – The Titans completed a first-round virtual interview on Saturday with Seahawks Senior Director of Player Personnel Matt Berry for the team's General Manager position.

Interviews with other candidates will continue on Saturday, and in the coming days.

Berry is in his 17th season with Seattle, and his second as senior Director of Player Personnel.

Prior to serving in his current role, Berry served eight seasons as director of college scouting (2015-22) for the Seahawks.

According to the Seahawks, Berry works alongside VP/Player Personnel Trent Kirchner directing both the college scouting and pro personnel departments to manage and strengthen all aspects of the Seahawks roster, in addition to being heavily focused on the draft process, pre-draft meetings, and the evaluation of draft-eligible players nationally.

In his eight years as director of college scouting, he coordinated the Seahawks entire college scouting operation and compiled all of the information required to set the draft board. He was responsible for the evaluation of all draft eligible players nationally, oversight of the Seahawks college scouting staff and worked closely with GM John

Schneider and the Seahawks coaching staff regarding the NFL Draft and college free agency. After serving 2014 as a national scout, Berry served the previous six seasons (2008-13) as a regional scout combing the southwestern states in search of talent.

Prior to joining the Seahawks, Berry spent five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, spending his final three seasons as the Falcons south-central scout. A native of Nashville, Tenn., he holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Davidson College (N.C.), where he played both baseball and football.

On Tuesday, Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk made the decision to part ways with general manager Ran Carthon, who was hired prior to the 2023 season.

Chad Brinker, the Titans president of football operations, is running the search for the new GM.

The plan is to interview a large number of candidates, including personnel evaluators across the NFL.

On Friday, the Titans interviewed Dolphins Senior Personnel Executive Reggie McKenzie, former Falcons Gm Thomas Demitroff and Buccaneers Assistant General Manager John Spytek.

Earlier on Saturday, the team interviewed Colts Assistant GM Ed Dodds.

After the first round of interviews, additional interviews are expected to be conducted with those advancing in the process as the team looks to identify its next general manager.
