NASHVILLE – The Titans completed an in-person interview on Thursday with Buccaneers Assistant GM John Spytek for the team's General Manager position.
The Titans previously conducted a virtual interview with Spytek over the weekend.
In-person interviews with other candidates will continue in the coming days.
Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, President and CEO Burke Nihill, President of Football Operations Chad Brinker, head coach Brian Callahan and others on the team's football staff are among those involved in the in-person interviews at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park.
Spytek is in his second season as Assistant General Manager with the Buccaneers, and his ninth season with the team. He has 22 years of experience in the NFL.
According to the Buccaneers, Spytek has worked closely with Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht regarding the NFL Draft, key free-agent acquisitions and all other personnel decisions. He's overseen the day-to-day operations of the college and pro scouting departments for Tampa Bay, and he's been responsible for administering free agency preparation and evaluating talent throughout the NFL and other professional football leagues.
Prior to joining Tampa Bay, Spytek spent three seasons with the Denver Broncos, where he worked as Southwest area scout in 2013, before being elevated to national scout, a position he held for two years (2014-15). Prior to that he spent three seasons (2010-12) as the Cleveland Browns' director of college scouting.
Spytek began his player personnel career working as an intern with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005, earning a full-time college scouting assistant position in 2006 and spending three years as a college/pro scout from 2007-09. His first job in the NFL was as an operations intern with the Detroit Lions in 2004.
Along with Spytek, the Titans previously conducted first-round virtual interviews with Dolphins Senior Personnel Executive Reggie McKenzie, former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, Buccaneers Assistant General Manager John Spytek, Seahawks Senior Director of Player Personnel Matt Berry, Colts Assistant GM Ed Dodds, Bills Director of Player Personnel Terrance Gray, Browns Assistant GM & VP of Football Operations Catherine Hickman, Bears Assistant General Manager Ian Cunningham, Chiefs Assistant General Manager Mike Borgonzi and Packers Vice President of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan.
The Titans also had in-person interviews with Ed Dodds and Terrance Gray on Tuesday, and with Mike Borgonzi and Ian Cunningham on Wednesday.
