Quick Hits on the Titans From Friday of Colts Week

NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park to continue preparations for Sunday's game against the Colts in Indianapolis.

Here's a look at some Titans topics in quick-hitting fashion:

-Center Ben Jones arrived in Nashville back in 2016 after playing his first four seasons in Houston.

The Titans signed Jones to anchor the team's offensive line for years to come, and his presence in the middle would also help change the mindset of a football team that was coming off a 3-13 season. Jones was the first unrestricted free agent announced during the 2016 league year, Jon Robinson's first year as the team's general manager.

Seven years later – and now set to make his 100th career start with the team – consider it mission accomplished.

"I've been here for seven years, and we've never had a losing season," Jones said. "When J-Rob sold it to me when I got here, he said he wanted a physical team that was able to run the ball, and he said he wanted me to be a part of it. I was excited about that, and I wanted to come in here and bring change. From there, the team brought in DeMarco (Murray) and Derrick (Henry) that year, and I could see the style were we about to change to, so it was exciting."

Since 2016, Jones is one of only seven offensive linemen who have started at least 99 of a possible 100 games.

The only game Jones has missed in Tennessee came in 2019, when he had a concussion. Since, Jones has started 43 consecutive games.

"If I am able to go, I am definitely going to be out there," Jones said. "I enjoy being out there – it's the reason I play. It is to play on Sundays, and to win games. That's what I am here for, and that's my job. I feel if I am not out there, I am letting the team down. I've been playing for 19 years now, and I think I've missed one game. So I take pride in being out there, and I love being out there with my teammates."
