Biography
PRO: The Titans signed Van Jefferson during the 2025 offseason to bring veteran experience and versatility to the wide receiver room. The 6-foot-1-inch, 200-pounder entered the NFL as a second-round draft pick of the L.A. Rams in 2020 and spent four plus seasons with the club, registering 101 catches for 1,499 yards with 10 touchdown grabs. He was traded to the Atlanta Falcons during the 2023 campaign and spent 2024 as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2021, Jefferson registered career-highs with 50 catches, 802 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He started all four postseason games helping the Rams capture the Super Bowl LVI championship.
TITANS TIDBITS:
• Jefferson's father, Shawn, played 13 seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver. He served as the Titans wide receivers coach from 2013-2015. He has also held coaching positions with the Detroit Lions (2006-12), Miami Dolphins (2016-18), N.Y. Jets (2019-20), Arizona Cardinals (2021-22), Carolina Panthers (2023), and is currently the wide receivers coach for the Jets.
CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Brentwood, Tenn., native was originally selected by the L.A. Rams in the second round (57th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.
• Traded by the Rams along with a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2025 sixth-round pick on Oct. 10, 2023.
• Signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an unrestricted free agent on March 13, 2024.
• Signed by the Titans as an unrestricted free agent on March 14, 2025.
SEASON RECAPS:
2024 (17/12, 1/1 - Pittsburgh): Played in all 17 games with 12 starts at wide receiver in his first season with the Steelers and posted 24 catches for 276 yards with two touchdowns.
• Against N.Y. Jets (10/20), snared his first touchdown with the Steelers, a four-yard grab from Russell Wilson, in the fourth quarter.
• Against N.Y. Giants (10/28), posted season-highs with four receptions and 62 receiving yards
• Against Cleveland (12/8), gave the Steelers a 20-7 lead with a 10-yard touchdown grab from Russell Wilson.
2023 (5/4 - L.A. Rams; 12/5 - Atlanta): Saw action in five games with four starts for the Rams and registered eight catches for 108 yards before being traded to the Falcons on Oct. 10. Appeared in 12 games with five starts for the Falcons and collected 12 receptions for 101 yards.
• At Seattle (9/10), posted a season-high four catches for 24 yards in the Rams season opener.
2022 (11/9 - L.A. Rams): Saw action in 11 games with nine starts at wide receiver and totaled 24 catches for 369 yards with three touchdowns. Ranked second among Rams receivers with 15.38 yards per reception. Recorded only one drop on 44 targets in 2022, a career-low. Was inactive for the first two games of the season before being placed on injured reserve on Sept. 24 and missing four contests.
• Against Las Vegas (12/8), collected two receptions for 44 yards, including the game-winning 23-yard touchdown catch from Matthew Stafford with 10 seconds remaining in the game.
• At L.A. Chargers (1/1), hauled in three catches for a season-best 77 receiving yards.
2021 (17/17, 4/4 - L.A. Rams): Started all 17 games for the first time in his career and set career-highs with 50 catches, 802 receiving yards and six touchdowns. His 16.0 average yards per catch ranked sixth in the NFL. Ranked third on the team in receptions (50) and second in receiving yards (802). Recorded three straight weeks with a receiving touchdown
(Weeks 12-14) during the 2021 campaign. Started all four postseason games on the road to a Super Bowl LVI title and collected nine receptions for 102 yards.
• Against Chicago (9/12), posted two catches for 80 yards, including a 67-yard touchdown reception on Sunday Night Football.
• Against Arizona (10/3), tied his season-high with six catches for 90 yards with a touchdown. Five of his six receptions were for first downs.
• Against Detroit (10/24), notched four catches for 43 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown reception from Matthew Stafford in the second quarter.
• At Houston (10/31), hauled in three receptions for 88 yards.
• At Green Bay (11/28), recorded three catches for 93 yards, including a career-long 79-yard touchdown grab from Matthew Stafford in the second stanza.
• Against Cincinnati (2/13), registered four catches, one for a first down, in the Rams' Super Bowl LVI victory against the Bengals.
2020 (16/0, 2/1 - L.A. Rams): Saw action in all 16 games as a rookie and registered 19 catches for 220 yards with a touchdown.
• Against Dallas (9/13), made his NFL debut and hauled in his first career catch on a 31-yard strike down the sideline. The catch ranks as the longest first-career reception made by a Ram since 2008.
• At Philadelphia (9/20), snared four receptions for a season-high 45 yards.
• At Tampa Bay (11/23), caught his first touchdown on a seven-yard strike from Jared Goff in a road victory against the Buccaneers.
COLLEGE:
• Appeared in 45 games during his collegiate career at Florida (2018-19) and Ole Miss (2015-17). Finished his career with 2,159 yards on 175 receptions with 16 touchdowns.
• As a senior (2019), started all 13 games and led the Gators with 657 yards on 49 receptions with six touchdowns.
• As a junior (2018), started all 13 games in his first season at Florida and led the Gators in receptions (35), receiving yards (503), receiving touchdowns (six) and average yards per game (38.7). Ranked fourth on the team in points scored (36) and all-purpose yards (520).
• As a sophomore (2017), played 10 games at Ole Miss and finished second on the team with 42 receptions, while recording 456 receiving yards with one score.
• As a redshirt freshman (2016), received first-team freshman All-SEC accolades from the league's coaches after finishing second on team with 49 catches, third with 543 receiving yards, while catching three touchdown passes. Ranked second among SEC freshmen with 4.1 catches per game and third with 45.2 receiving yards per game.
• As a freshman (2015), redshirted.
• Majored in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast.
PERSONAL:
• Attended Ravenwood (Brentwood, Tenn.) High School and garnered Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State and The Tennessean All-Midstate honors.
• Rated a four-star prospect by all the major recruiting services and was a member of the ESPN 300, Rivals 250 and Scout National 300.
• Was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and Nike's The Opening camp after high school.
• As a senior, hauled in 67 catches for 1,223 yards with 13 touchdowns, helping lead his team to a 14-1 record and a Class 6A runner-up finish as a senior.
• As a junior, totaled 87 catches for 1,251 yards with 14 touchdowns.
