NASHVILLE – The Titans selected Tulane receiver Jha'quan Jackson in the sixth round of Saturday's NFL Draft.
Jackson, selected with the 182nd overall pick, is known for his speed and play-making ability as a returner as well.
Jackson was teammates with Titans running back Tyjae Spears at Tulane. Spears showed up at Jackson's draft party in Louisiana, and they celebrated the life-changing phone call together.
"I am excited," Jackson said. "I left it up to the man above, God. I believe in faith, family and football. I am grateful and honored to wear a Titan uniform, back with my dawg. It is family reunited again.
"I am willing to do anything – (special teams), offense, whatever."
Spears, picked in the third round of last year's NFL Draft, told Jackson he should follow him back to Nashville as soon as possible.
"What do I think about it?," Spears said of the reunion with Jackson. "It's a dream come true, man. To get reunited again, to hold each other accountable, that is the thing I am most excited for."
Jackson played five seasons at Tulane, where he caught 109 passes for 1,743 yards and 17 touchdowns. Jackson also returned punts and kickoffs for the Green Wave, averaging 11.3 yards on 59 punt returns and 21.4 yards on 36 kickoff returns.
In 2023, Jackson caught 26 passes for 439 yards and four touchdowns while earning third team All-American Athletic Conference honors.
Jackson, who ran a 4.42 at the NFL Combine, is the nephew of Hall of Famer Ed Reed.
"My game speed is way different," Jackson said of his 40 time. "It's different when you are running in a game. When you are running in a game, you are thinking like a dog is chasing you, so it's a scary sight."
