NASHVILLE – Will Levis put on his No.8 jersey and headed out to practice on Wednesday.
The Titans rookie quarterback is doing everything he can to get himself ready to return to action.
"It's good, it's coming along well," Levis said of his injured ankle on Wednesday. "We'll see how this week goes, and I'm taking it day-by-day. I'm continuing to just prepare as if I was playing, keeping the same mindset regardless of the situation. … I'm continuing to work with the (trainers) to get me ready as soon as possible."
Levis, in fact, was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's Injury Report.
Coach Mike Vrabel said on Tuesday Levis has made strides in his recovery from an ankle injury, and he hopes he'll be able to play in the team's rematch against the Texans on Sunday.
Levis was among the team's inactives on Sunday against the Seahawks after suffering an ankle injury in the team's December 17 game against the Texans at Nissan Stadium.
Veteran Ryan Tannehill started against the Seahawks, and Malik Willis served as the team's back-up.
Levis made it clear on Wednesday he wants to play.
"I just want to play ball," Levis said. "I just want to go out there and win games and leave this season with a good taste in our mouth. We've had some tough losses. … There's an opportunity to put a new version of us on tape against that same (Texans) defense, (and that's) going to be exciting."
Levis didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday of last week, and he was listed as limited on Friday's Injury Report and listed as questionable for the game. Vrabel said "it wasn't very close" when asked about Levis and the decision on his playing status vs Seattle.
Levis has started eight games this season for the Titans, and he's thrown for 1,792 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions.
"Now that we're eliminated from playoff contention, we talk about different ways to motivate us," Levis said of the mindset moving forward. "I just want to win games. I am not as much excited about (being a spoiler) as I am about just winning a football game."
