The 12th Titan program will incorporate a number of elements that will be seen on a weekly basis. A flag pole will be added to the south end zone plaza and a 12th Titan flag will be raised just prior to kickoff each week by an honorary 12th Titan representing all 69,143 fans at the game. The honoree will have some Tennessee roots and could be a celebrity, civic leader, community hero, a fan or a former Titans player.
The fans at LP Field have always been an instrumental part of the game and have helped the Titans to one of the best home records (57-31, seventh in the league) in the NFL since the stadium opened in 1999. The LP Field environment has induced the most opponent false starts in the NFL over the last three seasons (49), including a league-leading 18 last season. The Titans have partnered with Coke Zero this season to reward the fans for their hard work and the help they provide their team. For any game that an opponent commits three false start penalties, every fan in the stadium will get a free Coke Zero coupon.
"Our fans have always been a huge part of our organization's success both on and off the field," said Titans owner K.S. "Bud" Adams, Jr.. "The 12th Titan initiative is a way that we can recognize what the fans mean to us as a team. As integrated into the game as our fans have been, I think these new elements will increase their involvement even more."
The Titans also have partnered with their flagship radio station, 104.5 The Zone, to find the most creative ways for Titans fans to show their 12th Titan spirit. Fans can submit their photos to the Zone website (www.1045thezone.com) and a winner will be selected before each home game to receive free tickets to the game. The winning photo also will be shown on the LP Field video boards during the game.
There will be additional elements that celebrate the 12th Titan, including fan giveaways and video board enhancements.
