NASHVILLE, Tenn. **— Heading into Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, things are pretty clear-cut for the Tennessee Titans.
It's a win-and-in playoff scenario.
But here's the tidbit from the NFL, released in the updated playoff scenarios on Tuesday morning:
Tennessee Titans (8-7) vs. Jacksonville (10-5 ), Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CST at Nissan Stadium.
Tennessee clinches a playoff berth with:
1) TEN win OR
2) TEN tie BUF loss or tie LAC loss or tie OR
3) BUF loss LAC loss
The Jaguars have locked up the AFC South and the No.3 seed in the playoffs, so the Titans are playing for a Wild Card spot. The playoff game would be next weekend, at a date and time that's to be determined.
The Bills play at Miami on Sunday, while the Chargers face the Raiders.
"We just want a chance; we just want an opportunity," Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said after Sunday's loss to the Rams. "We let one slip away – we've let three in a row slip away. But all you can ever ask for is an opportunity. I am looking forward to getting back to work.
"This is our season, and we are looking forward to it."
