NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When the game is on the line, Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota wants the football in his hands.

When things go well, he doesn't want the praise.

On Sunday, Mariota completed the 12th game-winning drive in the fourth quarter or overtime in his career, and the eighth in the past two seasons.

On Tuesday, he was asked what has allowed him to enjoy success in pressure-packed situations.

"It's the guys around here," Mariota said. "I think of myself as a guy that just goes out there and distributes. These guys are finding ways to get open, making plays in critical situations. I'm just kind of the guy that hopes that they can do it, and gives them an opportunity."

The Titans face the Jaguars on Thursday at Nissan Stadium. Mariota was a full participant in Tuesday's practice and said he's ready to go despite being listed on the Injury Report with a right hand injury.

Against the Jets, Mariota connected with receiver Corey Davis on an 11-yard touchdown pass with just 36 seconds left to lift the Titans to a 26-22 comeback win. Mariota guided a six-play, 86-yard drive that included the third down completion to Davis.

Mariota believes the Titans have benefited from performing well in previous pressure situations. Earlier this season, Mariota guided comeback wins against the Jaguars and Eagles.

"I think when those situations arise, guys have confidence in it," Mariota said. "That's most important, because week in and week out, a lot of these games are one-score games, and you have to be able to be your best in these critical situations. I think moving forward it creates confidence, and you know when those times come that we've done it before, and we can go out there and do it again.

"When these situations arise, we've been in them before, we have confidence in it. Really, it's just about making a play."

Thursday's challenge is a big one for the Titans.

The Jaguars are ranked 3rd in the NFL in total defense, allowing just 315.9 yards per game.

On Sunday, the Jaguars shut out quarterback Andrew Luck and the Colts in a 6-0 win.

"Their reputation, it is what it is -- I think those guys across the board, on every single level, their defense is a bunch of playmakers," Mariota said of the Jaguars.

"High caliber guys that have played well through these last couple years. We're pretty familiar with them, we've played them before. Got a lot of respect for that defense, I think they're one of the best in the league. We've got to be ready, we've got to be prepared, especially on a short week. It's going to be a tough challenge for sure."
