NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Throw it, and they will come.
A Titans passing party has broken out on the West Coast, as quarterback Marcus Mariota now has plenty of familiar faces to throw passes to this week in California.
Titans receivers Rishard Matthews, Corey Davis, Tajae Sharpe, Taywan Taylor and tight end Jonnu Smith have all joined Mariota in Los Angeles for workouts. The players are on the field this morning in L.A., and they plan to continue working throughout the week.
Last week, Mariota and Sharpe began working out together in California.
The group of four receivers and the second-year tight end are training, and building chemistry with Mariota with on-field work.
Mariota told Titans Online last month he planned to spend time in California as part of his offseason schedule. Sharpe has worked out in California in recent offseasons, and last week the two decided to train together after communicating.
Matthews, Davis, Taylor and Smith all had previously discussed plans to join them for work in California, and now that has materialized as well.
A year ago Mariota was recovering from a fractured fibula, so his on-field work didn't begin until much later in the offseason.
The Titans are scheduled to begin their offseason program on April 9 at Saint Thomas Sports Park. The team will conduct a veteran minicamp under new head coach Mike Vrabel in April before the team kicks off organized team activities in May.
