Fireball Flashbacks: Sept. 12, 1999 - Titans vs. Bengals

Trailing by nine points with less than five minutes remaining, Steve McNair and Eddie George led a Titans comeback, connecting on a 17-yard TD pass with 4:30 remaining, then setting up Al Del Greco for a game-winning 33-yard field goal with eight seconds to go, giving the Titans a 36-35 victory in the inaugural game at Adelphia Coliseum.

This week's 'Fireball Flashback' features former Titans QB Neil O'Donnell, who always delivered, winning several games as Steve McNair's backup from 1999-02, before returning for an encore performance in Tennessee's regular season finale in 2003, a 33-13 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Steve McNair rushed for for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Eddie George carried 31 times for 101 yards, as the Titans amassed 238 yards on the ground. But it was safety Rich Coady who sealed the game by intercepting Tom Brady and returning it 24 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter of Tennessee's 24-7 victory over the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.

Three players in the 60-year history of the Titans-Oilers franchise have been ranked among the Top 10 high school rushers of All-Time. The #1 prep rusher in the United States is Derrick Henry, who became the nation's all-time leading rusher at Yulee High School in 2012, breaking a nearly 60-year record with over 12,000 rushing yards in his high school career.

For over 20 years, the Titans have enjoyed success at left tackle with Pro Bowlers Brad Hopkins (1993-2005), Michael Roos (2005-14) and Taylor Lewan (2014-present).

Former Titans running back Skip Hicks, who came to Tennessee in 2001 while Eddie George battled a toe injury, carried 17 times for 142 yards and a touchdown in a 26-20 upset victory over Brett Favre and the playoff-bound Green Bay Packers in Nashville.

Vince Young tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Kenny Britt as time expired on fourth down, capping a miraculous 99-yard drive that used all 2:37 on the clock to up-end the defending NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals 20-17 at LP Field.

Travis Henry rushed for 143 yards, including a 70-yard TD, Pacman Jones returned a punt for a score, and Tennessee's defense had three takeaways and a touchdown in a 31-13 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, the team's first of six consecutive wins on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 at Lincoln Financial Field.

With the clock expiring in the first half, former Titans cornerback Samari Rolle returns an interception 81 yards for a touchdown, then later picks off childhood idol Deion Sanders in a 27-21 victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.
