Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Tyler Boyd as a free agent in the 2024 offseason. The 6-foot-2-inch, 203-pounder joins an experienced wide receiver room where he will add a proven track record of producing in the slot. The University of Pittsburgh product spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals where he appeared in 120 games with 77 starts and recorded 513 receptions for 6,000 yards and 31 touchdowns.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Boyd had four touchdown catches of 50 or more yards from 2021 to 2023, tied for the third most in the NFL in that span.
• Boyd tallied back-to-back 1,000 yard receiving seasons in 2018 (1,028) and 2019 (1,046).

TITANS TIDBITS:
• During the 2017 season, Boyd caught a 49-yard touchdown from quarterback Andy Dalton against the Ravens on a fourth-and-12 with 44 seconds left in the game that gave Bengals the lead and the eventual win; the victory vaulted Buffalo to a playoff berth, prompting Bills fans to donate more than an estimated $100,000 to Boyd's charity of choice, the Western Pennsylvania Youth Athletic Association, which his mom used to convert to a year-round, multi-sport organization.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Clairton, Pa., native was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round (55th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
• Signed by the Titans as a free agent on May 14, 2024.

COLLEGE:
• Played in 38 games with 33 starts over three seasons (2013-15) at Pittsburgh. Compiled 254 receptions for 3,361 yards and 21 touchdowns. Added 63 rushing attempts for 520 yards and one touchdown. Additionally ,returned 46 kickoffs for 1,124 yards and 27 punts for 238 yards. Finished his collegiate career as Pittburgh's all-time leader in both receptions (254) and receiving yards (3,361) and finished second at Pitt in career all-purpose yards (5,243), trailing only the legendary Tony Dorsett (7,117 from 1973-76). Named All-ACC all three years.
• As a junior (2015), finished with 91 catches for 926 yards (10.2 avg.) and six touchdowns in 12 games. Also was Pitt's second-leading rusher with 349 yards on 40 carries (8.7 avg.). Named a first-team All-ACC wide receiver by the coaches and media for the second consecutive year and third-team All-America selection by Phil Steele. Boyd's 91 catches rank second on Pitt's single-season list, one shy of the school record held by all-time great Larry Fitzgerald (who had 92 in 2003). Boyd led the ACC and ranked seventh nationally with 7.6 receptions per game. Boyd compiled 13 career 100-yard receiving games, second at Pitt only to Larry Fitzgerald (who had 14 from 2002-03).
• As a sophomore (2014), finished the season with 78 catches for 1,261 yards (16.2 avg.) and eight touchdowns. Earned second-team All-America accolades from SI.com as an all-purpose player and was a third-team All-America pick by Phil Steele as a receiver. Named first team All-ACC as a receiver and second team All-ACC as a return specialist. Became the first player in ACC history to compile 1,000 receiving yards in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Totaled six 100-yard receiving games on the year. Ranked second in the ACC and 17th nationally with an average of 97.0 receiving yards per game. Led the ACC and ranked 10th nationally with a 27.6-yard kickoff return average (16 for 442 yards). Ranked second in the ACC and 21st nationally with a 10.1-yard punt return average (16 for 162 yards).
• As a freshman (2013), was the nation's most productive freshman receiver, compiling 85 catches for 1,174 yards and seven touchdowns. Set Pittsburgh freshman records for receptions and yards, eclipsing marks held by Larry Fitzgerald. Had five 100-yard receiving games. Also set the Atlantic Coast Conference record for receptions as a freshman. Selected second-team All-ACC by the league's media.
• Majored in communications at Pittsburgh.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Clairton (Pa.) High School where he finished career ranking among the most productive performers in Western Pennsylvania annals. Played multiple positions including running back, wide receiver, quarterback, defensive back and punt returner.
• Set a career record for touchdowns (117) in the 10-county Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL).
• Rushed for 2,584 yards and 43 touchdowns as a senior.
• Team went 63-1 in high school career, including 48-0 in his three years as a starter.
• Also lettered in basketball.
