Sebastian Joseph-Day

PRO: The Titans signed Sebastian Joseph-Day early in the 2024 offseason to bolster the experience, verstaility and depth of the defensive front. The 6-foot-4-inch, 310-pounder entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the L.A. Rams in 2018. After not seeing game action his entire rookie campaign, the Rutgers product appeared in 39 regular season games with 38 starts and amassed 137 tackles and six sacks in three seasons (2019-21) with the Rams. Joseph-Day joined the L.A. Chargers during the 2022 offseason and played in 30 regular season games with the club before joining the San Francisco 49ers for the playoff push late in the 2023 regular season.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Joseph-Day has played in seven career postseason contests, including two Super Bowls, and captured the Lombardi trophy as a member of the L.A. Rams in 2021.
• In 2022, Joseph-Day started 16 games in his first season with the Chargers and set a career-best with 56 tackles, including eight tackles for loss, two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
• In 2019, Joseph-Day saw action in all 16 games with 15 starts at nose tackle for the Rams and tallied 44 tackles, two sacks, five stops for loss and a pass defensed.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• While in Los Angeles, Joseph-Day was a co-host of a podcast with boxing legend Mike Tyson. On the podcast, Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson, Joseph-Day and Tyson interviewed Ne-Yo, Hasbulla, The Undertaker, Terrell Owens, T-Pain and Tony Hawk, among others.
• Joseph-Day, who's nickname is 'Bash,' has hosted a digital series called 'Dine N Bash.' The show combines his passion for food and culture, highlighting local Los Angeles restaurants and sharing their origin stories, top dishes and what makes them unique. Joseph-Day began the show during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to showcase local businesses.

• The Stroudsburg, Pa., native was originally selected by the L.A. Rams in the sixth round (195th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
• Signed by the L.A. Chargers as an unrestricted free agent on March 17, 2022.
• Released by the Chargers on Dec. 22, 2023.
• Signed by the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent on Dec. 27, 2023.
• Signed by the Titans as an unrestricted free agent on March 20, 2024.

COLLEGE:
• Saw action in 50 career games, including 49 consecutive contests to end his five-year career (2013-17) at Rutgers. Compiled 97 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two passes defensed and two forced fumbles.
• As a senior (2017), started all 12 games at nose tackle and was named honorable mention All-Big Ten in the coaches' vote. Split the Homer Hazel Award as the team's MVP and was honored as the team's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. Totaled 41 tackles with 4.5 for a loss, 1.5 sacks, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal. Named to the Academic All-Big Ten list for the third-straight year.
• As a junior (2016), played in all 12 games with 11 starts at nose tackle and collected 30 tackles, 3.5 stops for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal. Named to the Academic All-Big Ten list.
• As a sophomore (2015), started all 12 games at nose tackle and finished third on the team with 5.5 stops for loss to go along with 22 tackles. Was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team.
• As a redshirt freshman (2014), played in all 13 games on the defensive line and registered three total tackles on the season.
• As a freshman (2013), appeared in one game, recording a tackle for loss in collegiate debut. Redshirted after suffering an injury.
• Graduated with a degree in journalism and media studies from Rutgers. Was a graduate student in the labor studies program in his final year with the Scarlet Knights.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Stroudsburg (Pa.) High School where he was coached by Joe Bernard and was rated as the No. 30 prospect out of the state of Pennsylvania by Rivals.
• As a senior, totaled 40 tackles, with 17 stops for loss, to go with two forced fumbles. Helped lead the Mountaineers to back-to-back Mountain Valley Conference champions with a 10-2 record in his final season. Accepted a bid to play in the Chesapeake Bowl, which is a senior-only high school all-star game presented by the Mid Atlantic Football Foundation and the Maryland Sports Commission.
• As a junior, picked up 25 tackles and six sacks as a part of a defensive unit that held opponents to an average of 13.4 points per game.
