Mason Rudolph

PRO: The Titans signed veteran Mason Rudolph early in the 2024 offseason to bring an experienced signal caller to the quarterback room. The 6-foot-5-inch, 235-pounder entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018. The Oklahoma State product spent his first six NFL campaigns with the club, appearing in 21 regular season games with 13 starts and amassing 3,085 yards and 19 touchdowns. The Rock Hill, S.C., native has registered a 8-4-1 record in his first 13 starts in the NFL.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2023, Rudolph started the final three regular season games for the Steelers and led the team to a 3-0 record and a playoff berth. He completed 55 of 74 passes for 719 yards with three touchdowns for a 118.0 passer rating.
• In 2019, Rudolph saw action in 10 games with eight starts for the Steelers and completed 176 of 283 passes for 1,765 yards with 13 touchdowns for a 82.0 passer rating.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• Rudolph comes from an athletic family. His mother, Jamie, ran track at Liberty University and his dad, Brett, played football at the University of North Carolina. His younger brother, Logan, played on the defensive line at Clemson from 2017-19.
• Rudolph has a strong connection to 2024 first-round quarterback Drake Maye. In the mid-1980s, Drake's father, Mark, was the starting quarterback at North Carolina and his roommate was Mason's dad, Brett, a linebacker on the Tar Heels. The two fathers have stayed close in the years since college, and their children grew up together. Mason's memories with the Mayes go back as far as he can remember. When the Rudolphs lived in Virginia, the families would go on vacation together once or twice each year. After the Rudolphs moved to Rock Hill, S.C., when Mason was in middle school, they were a 45-minute drive from the Mayes' home in Huntersville, N.C. The boys went to each other's basketball and football games.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Rock Hill, S.C., native was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round (76th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
• Signed by the Steelers as an unrestricted free agent on May 17, 2023.
• Signed by the Titans as an unrestricted free agent on March 15, 2024.

COLLEGE:
• Played four seasons (2014-17) at Oklahoma State and finished his career holding no fewer than 54 school records, including single-season and career marks for passing yards, passing touchdowns and pass efficiency. Ranked fourth in Big-12 history with 13,618 career passing yards and third with a 324.2 passing yards per game average. Led the Cowboys to a 32-9 record as a starting quarterback becoming the winningest signal caller in school history while notching 10 wins in games in which Oklahoma State trailed during the second half.
• As a senior (2017), was the recipient of the 2017 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes' Bobby Bowden Award and the Sammy Baugh Award. Led the FBS with 4,904 passing yards, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors by the coaches. Broke Barry Sanders' school record for touchdowns responsible for with 47. Teamed with receivers James Washington and Marcell Ateman and running back Justice Hall to make Oklahoma State the first Big 12 school in conference history with a 4,000-yard passer, two 1,000-yard receivers and a 1,000-yard running back in the same season.
• As a junior (2016), tabbed the school's 2016 Offensive MVP by the coaching staff after playing in all 13 games and completing 284 of 448 passes for 4,091 yards with 28 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Was the only player in the country to throw for at least 4,000 passing yards while throwing less than five interceptions. His 4,091 passing yards ranked eighth in the nation and were the third-most in school history for a single-season.
• As a sophomore (2015), saw action in 13 games and threw for 3,770 yards on 264 completions with 21 touchdowns. Was a second-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
• As a freshman (2014), was ticketed for a redshirt season until an injury to Daxx Garman thrust him into the starting lineup at No. 6 Baylor and he responded by turning in the most passing yards ever for an Oklahoma State player in his first game (281). Played in three games and completed 49 of 86 passes for 853 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions. Etched his name into Bedlam lore by quarterbacking the Cowboys to the second-largest fourth-quarter come-from-behind victory in school history as part of their 38-35 overtime win over the No. 18 Sooners in Norman. Rudolph's 273 passing yards against Oklahoma were the second-most ever for an OSU quarterback in a Bedlam Series game and his two touchdown passes that day tied for third-most ever for a Cowboy against the Sooners.
• Graduated with a degree in marketing from Oklahoma State.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Northwestern (S.C.) High School and led the school to a 62-35 win over Stratford in the South Carolina Class 4A Division II Championship, completing 40 of 57 passes for 488 yards with eight passing touchdowns.
• As a senior (2013), amassed 4,377 passing yards on 350 completions with 64 touchdowns, while rushing for 543 yards on 129 carries with 16 scores.
• Was a "Mr. Football" award finalist in South Carolina and MVP of the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
• As a junior (2012), threw for 3,990 yards and 41 touchdowns while leading his team to a state runner-up finish.
• Attended Westminster Catawba Christian School before transferring to Northwestern.
• Named South Carolina Football Coaches Association first-team Palmetto Champions All-State team, Charlotte Observer All-Region Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Region, and top 50 Carolina regional recruits (#4 in South Carolina), Rock Hill Herald All-Area Offensive Player of the Year as both a junior and senior.
