Biography
PRO: The Titans traded for L'Jarius Sneed during the 2024 offseason to bolster the leadership and add a veteran presence to the secondary. The 6-foot-1-inch, 192-pounder arrived in Nashville having amassed 10 interceptions and 40 passes defensed in his first four NFL regular seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs (2020-2023). The Louisiana Tech product also has an abundance of postseason experience having started 13 postseason contests while collecting 75 tackles, two sacks, an interception and seven passes defensed in his playoff career.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Sneed won a pair of Super Bowl titles (2022, 2023) as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
• In 2023, Sneed amassed 78 tackles, two interceptions, a career-best 14 passes defensed and a fumble recovery.
• In 2022, Sneed posted career-highs with 108 tackles and 3.5 sacks to go along with three interceptions, 11 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
• As a rookie in 2020, Sneed was named to the Pro Football Writer's Association All-Rookie team after notching 41 tackles, three interceptions, two sacks and seven passes defensed in just nine games.
TITANS TIDBITS:
• After playing wide receiver at Minden (La.) High School, Sneed converted to cornerback at Louisiana Tech and saw playing time in his true freshman season. His initial collegiate campaign was highlighted by an interception return touchdown against Western Kentucky in the Conference USA Championship Game.
CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Minden, La., native was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round (138th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.
• Traded by the Chiefs to the Titans along with a 2024 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick and a 2025 third-round selection on April 1, 2024.
COLLEGE:
• Appeared in 51 games during his four seasons (2016-19) at Louisiana Tech and tallied 179 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, eight interceptions (three returned for touchdowns) and 28 passes defensed.
• As a senior (2019), moved to safety and started all 13 games while earning All-Conference-USA second-team honors. Registered a team-high 73 tackles to go along with 3.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions including one pick-six.
• As a junior (2018), saw action in all 13 games with 12 starts and posted 59 tackles, eight pass break-ups and three interceptions returned for 43 yards with a touchdown. Named All-Conference USA honorable mention.
• As a sophomore (2017), played in 11 games with six starts and recorded 30 tackles, an interception and six passes defensed on the season.
• As a freshman (2016), played in all 14 games for the Bulldogs, making two starts in the final two games of the season. Registered 17 total tackles and one interception he returned 48 yards for a touchdown.
PERSONAL:
• Attended Minden (La.) High School, earning first-team All-District honors his junior and senior years with All-Area honors his senior season.
• As a senior (2016), was a two-way player that helped lead the team to a 9-3 record, advancing to the second round of the LHSAA 4A state playoffs.
• As a junior (2015), played safety and registered seven interceptions returned for 252 yards and four touchdowns.
• Son of Bobby and Jane Sneed.
• Has three older siblings: Nicole Griffen, T.Q. Mims and the late T.Q. Harrison.
• Sneed's brother, T.Q. Mims, played football at Arkansas-Pine Bluff from 2010 to 2013.
