Biography

PRO: The Titans signed Kenneth Murray Jr. as an unrestricted free agent early in the 2024 offseason to bring speed, toughness and experience to the inside linebacker position. The 6-foot-2-inch, 241-pounder is a sideline-to-sideline defender with an uncanny knack for finding the ball carrier. The University of Oklahoma product entered the NFL as a first-round pick of the L.A. Chargers in 2020. He spent his first four seasons with the club, appearing in 59 games with 53 starts while amassing 321 tackles, five sacks, two interceptions, 21 stops for loss, 33 quarterback pressures, 10 passes defensed and a forced fumble.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2023, Murray tied a career-best with 107 tackles to go along with a career-high three sacks.
• In 2020, Murray was named to the PFWA all-rookie team after leading the Chargers with a franchise rookie record 107 tackles, which was the second highest rookie total in the NFL.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• Murray's family adopted three special needs children when he was 10 years old, and he has used his love for them and his family to motivate his success on the gridiron.
• In the summer of 2019, Murray performed CPR to revive an unresponsive woman on a street corner in Norman, Okla.
• In 2017, Murray became the first true freshman to start a season opener at inside linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners since 1975.
• Murray is a certified scuba diver.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Missouri City, Texas, native was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round (23rd overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft.
• Signed by the Titans as an unrestricted free agent on March 14, 2024.

COLLEGE:
• Started all 42 games during his three-year career at Oklahoma and registered 335 tackles and 37 tackles for loss. Tied for 11th in school history in career tackles (ninth among linebackers) and ranked eighth among Sooners linebackers with 9.5 career sacks.
• As a junior (2019), selected Associated Press first-team All-Big 12 and first-team All-Big 12 from the conference coaches. Named Associated Press third-team All-America after registering 102 tackles, four sacks, 17 tackles for loss and four passes defensed.
• As a sophomore (2018), named Associated Press second-team All-Big 12 and second-team All-Big 12 from the conference coaches after posting 155 stops, the most tackles by a Sooner since 2007. Added 4.5 sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, a pair of pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
• As a true freshman (2017), started all 14 games and recorded 78 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Earned co-Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and honorable mention All-Big 12 by the conference coaches. Selected to the Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America team and USA Today Freshman All-America.
• Earned a degree in communications from Oklahoma in December 2019.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Elkins (Missouri City, Texas) High School and was ranked as the No. 34 player in Texas by Rivals.
• As a senior, recorded 104 tackles, four sacks, six passes defensed and a forced fumble.
• Also lettered in track & field. Ran the 100-meter dash, the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x200-meter relay.
