Biography

PRO: The Titans selected Josh Whyle in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft to bring youth and receiving ability to the tight end corps. The 6-foot-7-inch, 248-pounder appeared in 11 games as a rookie and started three at tight end. He registered nine receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 30. Whyle appeared in 52 games with 20 starts over five seasons (2018-22) at Cincinnati and caught 88 passes for 1,062 yards with 15 touchdowns.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Whyle was a three-time All-AAC selection who set the Bearcats' school record for most career receiving touchdowns by a tight end with 15 scoring grabs.

COLLEGE:
• In five seasons at Cincinnati (2018-22), Whyle appeared in 52 games with 20 starts and tallied 88 receptions for 1,062 yards with 15 touchdowns with all but two catches coming in his final three seasons. Collected All-AAC first-team accolades as a senior in 2022, solidifying himself as one of the nation's top all-around tight ends. Set the Cincinnati school record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end (15), breaking Brent Celek's mark.
• As a senior (2022), Appeared in 12 games with 10 starts and collected All-AAC first-team honors. Selected as a team captain and hauled in 32 receptions for 326 yards with three touchdowns.
• As a junior (2021), played in 14 games with eight starts and earned All-AAC honorable mention accolades. Ranked second on the squad with six touchdowns to go along with his 332 receiving yards on 26 catches. Scored five touchdowns in four weeks from Oct. 23 to Nov. 12.
• As a sophomore (2020), played in 10 games with two starts at tight end and led the team with 353 receiving yards on 28 catches with six touchdowns. Earned third-team All-America honors from Pro Football Focus and second-team All-AAC accolades. According to Pro Football Focus, he generated a 92.9 receiving grade and 2.94 yards per route run avg., both of which trailed only Kyle Pitts for the best among NCAA FBS tight ends.
• As a redshirt freshman (2019), appeared in all 12 games as a reserve and made a pair of catches for 51 yards. Named to the 2019 AAC All-Academic Team.
• Graduated from Cincinnati in the Fall of 2021 with a degree in criminal justice.

PERSONAL:
• Attended La Salle (Cincinnati, Ohio) High School and helped lead the program to a 50-8 record with three Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II titles.
• As a senior (2017), led the Lancers and ranked fourth in the GCL South with 37 receptions for 442 yards and three touchdowns. Received first-Team Division II All-Ohio and first-team All-Southwest District Division II honors by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. Also earned first-team
All-GCL South honors.
• As a junior (2016), caught 40 passes for 546 yards and six touchdowns as he helped the Lancers capture their third-consecutive state title. Earned first-team All-GCL South honors.
• Also competed in basketball.
