Ernest Jones

PRO: The Titans traded for Ernest Jones IV prior to the start of the 2024 season to bring in a talented, young linebacker to the defensive core. The 6-foot-2-inch, 233-pounder entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the L.A. Rams in 2021. He spent his first three NFL seasons with the club, appearing in 47 games with 33 starts while amassing 316 tackles, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions, 19 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and 12 passes defensed.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• In 2023, Jones posted career-highs with 145 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss and six passes defensed.
• Jones won a Super Bowl as a member of the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. In Super Bowl LVI, he tallied nine tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and a pass defensed.

TITANS TIDBITS:
• During the past two offseasons, Jones hosted a Back to School Giveaway in his hometown of Waycross, Ga. He provided the youth in the community essential school supplies, backpacks, and resources to help kickstart the academic year on a positive note.
• Jones made a cameo in Episode 9 of the Peacock series BelAir in 2023.

CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
• The Waycross, Ga. native was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in third round (103rd overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.
• Traded by the Rams to the Titans along with a 2026 sixth-round pick in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick.

COLLEGE:
• Appeared in 26 games with 21 starts over three seasons (2018-20) at South Carolina and tallied 199 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, seven passes defensed and two interceptions.
• As a junior (2020), was the vocal leader of the defense and named one of four permanent team captains. Started each of the first nine games, missing the final contest with an injury. Led the team in tackles for the second straight year with 86 stops. Also tallied two interceptions, five pass breakups, six quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries.
• As a sophomore (2019), started all 12 games and recorded a team-high 97 tackles. Had 5.5 tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, five pass breakups and a forced fumble.
• As a freshman (2018), played in five games as a true freshman and tallied 16 tackles and a forced fumble.

PERSONAL:
• Graduated from Ware County (Ga.) High School and logged 112 total tackles and six tackles for loss as a senior. Also had two sacks, three forced fumbles and five quarterback hurries in his final campaign.
• Was a first-team all-state Class AAAAA selection.
• Ranked as the 59th best outside linebacker prospect in the country and 84th-best overall prospect in Georgia.
