Biography

PRO: The Titans selected Colton Dowell in the seventh round (228th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-3-inch, 212-pounder possesses a unique blend of size, speed, ball skills and explosiveness. During his rookie season, he appeared in 10 games, primarily contributing on special teams while adding one reception for three yards. The Lebanon, Tenn., native played six seasons at UT Martin (2017-22) where he saw action in 47 games with 34 starts, recording 177 receptions for 2,796 yards and 19 touchdowns.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
• Dowell was named first-team All-OVC and to The Bluebloods all-conference first team his senior year after tallying 67 receptions for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns.
• Broke all-time receiving yards mark at UT Martin finishing his career with 2,796 yards while ranking third in school history with 19 touchdowns and 177 receptions.

• During six seasons at Tennessee-Martin, Dowell appeared in 47 games with 34 starts and recorded 177 receptions for 2,796 yards and 19 touchdowns. Named first-team All-OVC in 2020 and 2022 and second team All-OVC in 2019 and 2021. Registered 11 career 100-yard receiving games. He became UT-Martin's all-time leader in receiving yards.
• As a graduate (2022), started all 11 games for the Skyhawks at wide receiver. Tallied 67 receptions for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns to lead the team to an OVC Championship. Became the fourth player in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season. Ranked amongst FCS leaders in receiving yards per game (ninth), receiving yards (13th), and receptions per game (19th). Ranked among OVC leaders in receptions (second), receiving yards (second), receiving yards per game (second) and touchdowns (fourth).
• As a senior (2021), started six games for the Skyhawks before suffering a season-ending injury. Tallied 22 receptions for 398 yards and two touchdowns. Was named to All-OVC second team. Helped team to OVC Championship and second round berth in FCS NCAA Division 1 playoffs. Averaged 18.1 yards per catch to lead the OVC and 66.3 yards per game to rank third in the OVC.
• As a junior (2020), started all seven games. Led the team with 40 receptions for 459 yards and four touchdowns. Ranked among OVC leaders in receptions (first), receiving yards (second), touchdowns (second), receptions per game (5.7, second) and receiving yards per game (65.6, third). Ranked 21st nationally in both receiving touchdowns and receiving yards. Named to All-OVC first team and OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
• As a sophomore (2019), played in 12 games with 10 starts between wide receiver and tight end. Recorded 38 receptions for 765 yards and four touchdowns. Average 20.1 yards per catch and 64.0 all-purpose yards per game. Tabbed to HERO Sports Sophomore All-American honorable mention squad, All-OVC second team and Phil Steele All-OVC first team.
• As a redshirt freshman (2018), played in 11 games and compiled 10 receptions for 138 yards and three touchdowns.
• As a freshman (2017), redshirted and did not see any game action.
• Graduated from Tennessee-Martin with a degree in exercise science in December of 2021.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Wilson Central High School (Tenn.) and played for coach Brad Dedman. Guided the Wildcats to a 8-3 record with a playoff berth in 2016.
• Tallied 44 receptions for 799 yards and five touchdowns. Averaged 18.2 yards per catch and notched three 100-yard receiving games.
• Named to the Region 6-3A all-region squad.
• Played in the 2016 Toyota East vs. West All-Star Game.
