Young Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans quarterback Vince Young was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday at LP Field. Young threw for a career-high 387 yards in the Titans' 20-17 come-from-behind victory.

Starting on their own one-yard line with 2:37 remaining in the game, Young led the Titans on an 18-play, 99-yard drive and completed the go-ahead 10-yard touchdown to rookie wide receiver Kenny Britt as time expired. The Titans offense converted three fourth downs during the final drive en route to their fifth consecutive victory. Young also completed a career-high 27 passes on 43 attempts, including three passes over 25 yards and a long of 51 yards.

This is the second career AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Young and his first since Week 16 of the 2006 season for his performance against the Buffalo Bills. Young is the second Titans player to win the AFC weekly honors this year, joining Chris Johnson who won the award in Week 8 with his franchise-record 228 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
