WIDE RECEIVER CALVIN RIDLEY
With this season over, what do you think about next year?
I wouldn't say it's relief or anything. I think we can wait, we just had a long year, but we definitely are ready to do it again. We want to prove that we are good, and we know we're good and we're not far. We're definitely ready for next year. Obviously, not right now.
Do you feel there's enough here to build on going into next year?
No doubt. We can line up with the same team and we definitely will win more than three games, for sure. I mean, I like what we have. Obviously, we do need other pieces and that's up to the coaches and GMs and everything.
You said 1,000 yards could help create a positive takeaway for you in this season, does it feel that way right now for you?
Yeah, a little bit. I feel like I got 1,000 yards, but the season wasn't the best, but I'll take the thousand.
How would you describe the foundation for this offense and the way you guys can try and build on it going into next year?
Just for me personally, I just know a lot more about the offense. I know where to be at and I think we'll be fine.
Was there never had any doubt in your mind that yours was a catch?
Mine, yeah. I thought it wasn't a catch, I ain't gonna lie. JC (Latham) said Rid, that's not a catch. I seen my leg up. I was like, I didn't get that leg down. But I looked at Tyke (Tolbert), he said you got the elbow down. Elbow equals two feet. Thank you, Jesus, thank you God, I needed that. I'm just happy about the thousand.
When do you start the offseason process of starting to look towards next season, like how long do you reflect on this season?
Maybe two weeks to a month. I've been talking with a couple of guys here to get me going, so two weeks here. And I'm going to get right back in the gym, probably not run as much, but do a couple of things to help my help my body feel a little better.
You said 1,000 feels good for you, but as a team, obviously it's not where you want to be. When does the team start to feel good again? How long does that take?
The season is over. We're upset about the season. We want to win games. We've got to throw away. I'm throwing it away. I'm done, the season's over. I mean, we didn't win. It's a fail for me because I didn't help the team win. I got the thousand, that's the only thing that makes it feel a little better, but the season is done, throwing it away. Just get ready for next year. Watch the playoffs and get ready for next year.
