NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans are proud to announce Week Four nominees for the Titans High School Coach of the Week honors!
The nominees are Heath Woods of Carter High School in Strawberry Plains, Joe Case of Mosheim's West Greene High School, Tony Brunetti of Pearl-Cohn High School and Tab Vowell of Jackson North Side High School.
Each coach was chosen by sports media throughout the state of Tennessee on the basis of specific criteria that include: beating a longtime rival, snapping a losing streak, defeating a defending champion, recording an amazing come from behind victory, and/or involvement in the local community.
Also considered, is a coach's commitment to his players' safety by teaching the fundamentals of the game, proper tackling techniques, concussion management practices and adherence to heat and hydration guidelines.
Week Four voting is open until 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT Thursday, Sept. 26. VOTE here.
The 10 weekly winners of the Coach of the Week will earn a $1,000 grant from the Tennessee Titans Foundation for their football programs to be used to provide funds for equipment, turf treatment or upgrades to their field houses.
At the conclusion of the Tennessee state playoffs, a Titans High School Coach of the Year will be selected and that winner will earn a $2,000 grant from the Titans Foundation for his school's football program!
The Titans began honoring Tennessee's High School Coaches in 1998 and since that time, have awarded $164,000 in grants to support high school football programs throughout Tennessee via this program!

Heath Woods, Carter High School:After suffering from a stroke during the first game of the 2012 season that sidelined him the entire year, Coach Woods has fully recovered and returned for the 2013 campaign. The Carter Hornets defeated the Austin-East Road Runners with an outstanding defensive effort, 50-6. The Hornets scored in all aspects of the game, on offense, defense and special teams. The Carter Hornets have improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2006.
*Joe Case, West Greene High School: *Coach Case's Buffaloes won in a close one against Cumberland Gap, 34-32. Holding strong the entire game, West Greene was able to seal the win against the Panthers with a clutch interception during the final drive of the game. It was an important Blue Ridge Conference victory, and Coach Case continues to improve the school program into consistent winners.
Tony Brunetti, Pearl-Cohn High School:Coach Brunetti's Pearl-Cohn Firebirds rebounded from a lopsided rout last week to defeat the Class 3A fifth-ranked Lipscomb Academy Mustangs, 48-21. The Firebirds jumped out quickly with a fast-paced, no-huddle offense, leading 21-0 in the second quarter. Pearl-Cohn was able to thwart a Lipscomb offensive surge in the third quarter and scored 13 more points to increase its lead.
Tab Vowell, Jackson North Side High School:Coach Vowell's North Side Indians defeated the Ripley Tigers 27-22. Playing in a relentless downpour, the Indians trailed the Tigers late in the fourth quarter. Calling a trick play on fourth down, the Indians scored a on a 12-yard run with 1:02 left to go, sealing the exciting win. The victory marks North Side's first district win of the season.
The winner of the Coach of the Week grant will receive $1,000 grant to help a deserving school provide funds for equipment, turf treatment or upgrades to their field house!
