HILTONof the Indianapolis Colts, running back ALFRED MORRISof the Washington Redskins and quarterback RUSSELL WILSONof the Seattle Seahawks are the finalists for PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK honors for games played on December 30, the NFL announced today.
Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/rookies beginning Monday at 9 A.M. ET and ending on Wednesday at 3 P.M. ET to determine the PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK. The PEPSI MAX NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEKwill be announced Wednesday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual "NFL Honors" awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.
A closer look at the finalists:
• Tennessee Titans LB Zach Brownrecorded one sack and two interceptions, returning both for touchdowns as the Titans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 38-20.
• Cincinnati Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict led the team with 18 total tackles, ten solo as the Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens 23-17.
• Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton caught four passes for 111 and one touchdown in the Colts' 28-16 victory over the Houston Texans.
• Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris rushed for 200 yards on 33 carries and scored three touchdowns in a 28-18 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
• Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilsoncompleted 15 of 19 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown as well as adding 58 yards and one touchdown on the ground to help lead the Seahawks to a 20-13 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
This is Pepsi's eleventh year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the eleventh year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
