NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans have wrapped up their draft by selecting defensive back Tommie Campbell of California University of Pennsylvania.
Campbell is 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, and he ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. The native of Aliquippa, Pa., started his college career at Pittsburgh in 2005 and 2006 before transferring to Edinboro in 2007 after struggles with grades.
He was working full-time as a janitor at the Pittsburgh International Airport when Cal (Pa.) called, and he played in 12 games with four starts. He also played in the Cactus Bowl.
Campbell says he's happy to be going into the NFL. He says he talked to the Titans defensive coordinator recently who told him he liked him.
