NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** Titans rookie receiver Corey Davis hasn't been around quarterback Marcus Mariota long.

But he already knows his M.O.

"Marcus, he kind of takes the blame for a lot of things, even if it is not his fault," Davis said on Friday.

Case in point: Mariota's four interception game in Thursday night's 40-17 loss against the Steelers. After the game, while speaking at a podium at Heinz Field, Mariota shouldered the blame for all four turnovers.

"(The interceptions) are on me," Mariota said. "When it comes down to it, I am the one that makes the decision to throw, and just bad decisions. I have to do a better job if it's not there to either tuck it away, or throw it out of bounds."

Davis, the fifth overall pick of the draft, said on Friday: "Two of those picks he threw were my fault."

Mariota overthrew receiver Rishard Matthews on his first interception, and his fourth interception came as the result of him throwing behind tight end Delanie Walker. On Mariota's second interception, Titans coach Mike Mularkey said Davis should have continued his route and come back to the ball to keep it from being intercepted.

"What the DB did is what we need Corey to do," Mularkey said. "That kind of angle, you can't defend it. That's just a tough lesson we all had to watch, and learn from it. I think he will."

A Steelers defender came up with another ball thrown to Davis on a bang-bang play in the second half.

The Titans watched film of the game – and the interceptions – on Friday.

"It was rough," Davis said of the film session. "It's always rough after a big loss like that. But we evaluated, tried to stay positive and move on. … There's a lot to clean up obviously, but we will."

Davis, who had three catches for 27 yards in the contest, knows he has room to improve. Davis missed all of training camp with a hamstring injury, and was sidelined earlier in the season for a five-game stretch.

Mularkey said Davis takes criticism well, and learns from it. He doesn't get flustered, Mularkey said. On the season Davis has 16 catches for 176 yards. He was upset with himself after the Cincinnati game for fumbling into the end zone.

"This game doesn't wait for anyone," said Davis, who played 54 of the offense's 65 snaps vs the Steelers. "I just have to take it one day at a time and keep learning as I am going.

"I just have to come down with those balls, and just keep getting open. (Marcus) is a great quarterback and it is amazing that he still has faith in me. I just have to keep making plays, and keep getting open."
